Municipal Governance Is Leadership

Is a Mayor an option for our future leadership?

For many years, the Municipality of the District of Chester (MODC) has discussed an important question:

Should our Municipality continue to be led with a Warden, or should we consider moving to a Mayor led model?

That conversation is before us once again and your voice matters.

Over the coming months, the MODC has engaged Watson & Associates Economists Ltd. to undertake a review and explore the potential of moving toward a Mayoral leadership model.

As part of this process, the consulting firm will engage with residents and Municipal Councillors to hear different perspectives, answer questions, and better understand the views of our community.

Once the consultation and review are complete, Watson & Associates will bring its findings and recommendations forward to Municipal Council for consideration.

This is an important conversation about the future leadership, representation, and governance of our Municipality.

Please take the time to participate when public information sessions and consultation opportunities are announced. Most importantly, share your thoughts, ask questions, listen to different perspectives, and be part of the conversation.

Our future depends on informed public input, thoughtful discussion, vision, and teamwork.

Stay tuned for information about consultation dates, opportunities to participate, and updates as this process moves forward.

Your Municipality. Your Voice. Our Future.
