Today we took a moment to pause and reflect on the ongoing process of Truth and Reconciliation. We wore orange and some students signed pledges to remember the children who didn’t come home and the lives devastated as a result. We hope the $385 we raised at the bake sale will benefit the The Orange Shirt Society in their endeavours. The Orange Shirt Society partners with local groups to bring Indian residential school education and recognition of Survivors into everyday spaces where people live, learn, and gather, in order to talk and heal. Many thanks to all those who donated today and to our awesome Grade 9 Leadership who initiated and led the lunchtime activity. 🧡
