Thank you to Bloom Resorts Huntsville for having us on Saturday. We spent the morning talking about fire safety with families, then headed outside to show our tanker truck and let the kids spray some water. Beautiful day and a great turnout.

We were proud to join OPP and EMS at the Frontline Families Retreat, an event that supports families who have lost a first responder and gives them space to connect. Families explored the ladder truck, sprayed water and spent time with our crews. A meaningful day all around.

We all have that junk drawer. The one full of batteries, old gadgets, and things we swear we’ll “deal with later.” Last week, we were called to a home where a lithium battery exploded inside one of those drawers. Luckily, the damage was small. It could have been much worse.

Lithium batteries can ignite when they’re damaged or tossed out with regular garbage. If you’ve got old batteries around the house, please don’t throw them in the trash.

✔ Tape the ends
✔ Keep them somewhere cool and dry
✔ Drop them off at a proper recycling spot

Great visit today with Huntsville Riverside Child Care. We talked about fire safety, showed the kids some of our gear, and got them up in the truck. Really fun day and we appreciate the staff for having us.

We were happy to host the Huntsville Public Library storytime at the Fire Hall today. It was a well‑attended event with songs, stories, a look through our gear, and time in the trucks. Lots of excitement from the kids, and a few of our own families came out as well, including one of our firefighters and our Training Officer. Thanks to the Library team for bringing the program to us.

The Huntsville Fire Department has concluded a lengthy enforcement process involving a multi‑unit residential rental property where a landlord failed to comply with an order issued under the Ontario Fire Code.

Stopped by Muskoka Meadows Early Learning this morning with the rescue truck. The kids got to look through the truck and some of our equipment, and they kept us busy with questions. Always a fun way to start the day.
