Milestone moment!

Our first wellness workshop for front-line workers has been delivered.

Yesterday, we had the honour of spending the afternoon with the dedicated team of front-line workers from the Metis Nation of Ontario.

This workshop centred on the wellness and self-care of front-line workers. We discussed how, as helpers, we often overlook our own well-being. Incorporating self-care techniques into our daily routines is vital to continuing to support others effectively, but it can be challenging if we don't know where to begin.

While on the front lines for 7 years, I discovered the power of aromatherapy. Although I didn't fully integrate it into my life back then, I studied it more extensively when we started Timea's Market.

We shared the science behind stress, what happens in your body when you are stressed or relaxed, how it affects you and your health, and we talked about the science of aromatherapy therapy with the audience from a neuroscience perspective.

They were shocked to learn that for example, a Lavender based Roll-on can reach your bloodstream and brain in 3 minutes, which then helps releasing calming hormones.

The audience was able to test and smell over 20 different essential oils and learn about their benefits, then dig in and make some aromatherapy based easy to use self care items during the first session.

It was amazing to see how they fully immersed themselves in the experience.

After the first session, we spent the last hour with a certified yoga teacher who helped all of us learn simple breathing techniques we can use when we have 5 minutes between clients and need to release some feelings. The room then turned into a mini spa, and we deemed the lights. took our shoes off, put on a meditation music and we ended the day with guided meditation.

I have not seen the evaluation yet but from the conversations with the members I believe this was a well recieved workshop.

It was designed for Police, Social Service providers and any organization who believes their employees are working kn a high stress environment and starting to implement wellness into their workplace culture.

As for me, I am over the moon that we found yet an other way to spoil our favorite people ❤️

We are growing!
What a difference one year can make!
Last year, around this time, I thought to myself, " Huh, I still have some old labels left from 2019 when we had Timea's Market before we shut down for Covid. Why not make a few soaps, soaks, and such, a couple of flyers, and take them to local stores to see if they are interested? I said to myself, if they are not interested, I'll finish writing my second book.'
Well, they were interested. 2 stores became 4, then 10, and now over 24 locations with ONroute.

That means, as much fun as it was to do it alone (with the help of volunteers and very part-time help), this year we added a seasonal driver and two seasonal production assistants to work out of our cute, newly updated production and kitchen facility.

The more hands, the better, right?

This also means we are now finally fully stocked and launching our catalogues for the wedding and event season! Another incredible way to continue to raise awareness.

Summer is around the corner! And we are very excited to share that we have been working on new summer arrivals and new products since February in our brand new designer production kitchen :-)

Not only are these products beautiful, smell amazing, and organic or natural, but they also help us continue to raise awareness through the names on the labels.

It was truly amazing to witness this incredible event and the launch of the expansion of the Ncourage Hub. I can't believe it has been 11 years since we first started dreaming and visioning about it. Folks, this is what true collaboration looks like. 😇😇😇

I made a mistake! As we prepared for the speech, I shared my excitement with the CEO of ONroute that I could not believe our products and awareness campaign would be exposed to 4 million visitors a year (ONroute stats 2019).

He asked, "How many?" I replied, "4 million." He quietly responded, "Um, it’s actually 34 million now...

34 million." Please let that sink in. I knew we would make an impact by reaching 4 million, but 34 million?

Speaking of "When Activism and Awareness Campaigns Meet Entrepreneurship," our Timea's Cause budget, or any charity budget for that matter, would have never been able to pay for that kind of awareness—ever. Not to mention the truck wrap. In 6 months, we will conduct an evaluation and present data to see how effective this strategy really is.
