Very excited to share that I have been officially invited to do my first Keynote speech as an Entrepreneur at the Business Leadership Forum, presented by Altitude Commercial Real Estate Advisors and The Real Estate Collective.

The invitation came as a very pleasant surprise from the organizer, who is an Entrepreneur himself and has followed me on my journey since my Walk With Me times.

This presentation will be about how I used the skills I developed while surviving human trafficking and rebuilding my life to build our company. I’ll explore how we can reinvent ourselves, adapt to change, and navigate challenging times by drawing on our strengths and lived experiences. I’ll also share how the skills I gained through personal trauma and crisis helped me find a way forward.

Looking forward to reporting back on this extremely exciting opportunity.

We have officially incorporated Timea's Thrift Boutique.

God help us all :-)

This adventure excites me and terrifies me at the same time.
When I set out to create a for-profit social enterprise, I watched Dragons' Den for 2 months. 24/7. Day and night. Then I approached several successful businessmen and asked if they would mentor me. I have learned more from them and Dragons' Den combined than I could possibly learn from textbooks. My goal was to start a company that would align with three of my core values:

1. Community engagement

2. Awareness

3. Supporting survivors

It turns out that 80% of the same audience we are trying to reach with our awareness campaign also shops at Thrift stores.

Given the success of the Thrift event, we are officially moving forward on this big new adventure.
Timea's thrift Boutique will be more than just a thrift store. We hope to continue to raise awareness, support survivors and vulnerable individuals and support Victim Services of Muskoka and The Family Connexions Step for Safety program.

Our Pilot store is opening November 3rd in Huntsville, Muskoka.

Very excited to see the registration jumping up every day. Indigenous groups, Police officers, Probation officers, victim services caseworkers and shelter workers from across Ontario and Alberta are signing up for our upcoming Trauma Recovery workshop. The content has been tested for over 2 years and has been highly rated by frontline workers.

This workshop isn't just a professional development workshop; it will also strongly support your mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. (I got that from a review:-)

Revolving Door will tackle the science behind how one becomes a victim, how they stay in the never-ending cycle, how we can all support them while they are living in a Revolving door, and what we can do to help them break the cycle with absolutely little or no funding available as frontline workers.

The workshop will be deliberately hosted at a beautiful Muskoka-feel venue with large windows to Nature and a lake.

This is not just a workshop; it is a place where like-minded frontline workers will come together and find ways to inspire each other, learn, and heaven forbid, get some rest and enjoy the surroundings and themselves for a minute :-)

Not to mention the all-day Mediterranean buffet snack table prepared by a local celebrity chef to spoil you all rotten:-)

To say the party was a success is an understatement. More detailed updates will come in a couple of days, but for now, here are a few pictures. Thank you all so much for coming out to support.

Our first annual Thrift Party in Huntsville, Muskoka, happening tomorrow is the definition of supporting local!

We expected around 50 registrations.
So far, 175 people have registered, and we believe about 200 people may attend.
Behind the scenes, this event has been built by:
• 14 volunteers
• 120 hours of combined labour
• $680 in Facebook/Meta advertising
• $210 in flyers and word-of-mouth promotion
But the impact goes far beyond attendance.
This event helps support local businesses and community partners, including:
• 2 local bakeries
• 2 individuals hired for part-time contract work
• A local printer
• A local venue rental
• A local AV system rental
• A local grocery store for food and drinks
• A local flower shop for fall decor
• A local antique shop for DIY signs made from local antique finds
• A local hardware shop for tools and paint used on the DIY signs
And the community impact doesn’t stop there.
If even 70% of attendees show up and each person brings 2 bags of donations, we could collect as many as 11,200 clothing items, keeping them out of landfills and giving them a second life in someone else’s closet.
This is what community looks like:
People showing up, local businesses benefiting, volunteers giving their time, and usable clothing staying in circulation instead of going to waste.
One event.
Many hands.
Real local impact.

Thanks to the incredible support of our community, the turnout for Muskoka’s biggest thrift party has exceeded our expectations!
(This Sunday, 1-4pm, Active Living Centre, Huntsville.)

To help make your arrival easier, if you are bringing more than two bags of donations, please drive to the front entrance of the Active Living Centre. (Please don't block fire routes and wheelchair parking spots)

Our volunteers will help unload your donations onto a cart and stay with them while you park your vehicle.
Thank you for helping us keep the drop-off process smooth and efficient!

We are extremely excited to see you, and we thank everyone who is coming out to support Canadian victims of human trafficking and vulnerable youth.

No rest for the wicked as they say ;-)

It is official. I am officially a volunteer crisis responder (again) 🥰
What an honor to join a such an incredible people and organization at Muskoka Victim Services ❤️
I have completed the training (again) because a lot has changed since I was on front lines in Canada. And while I can't start ride away due to some pre-booked commitments I am very excited to dive in next week.

We had an amazing volunteer orientation night last night for our upcoming Thrift Party!
I forgot to take pictures, so I recreated some with AI.
But the point is, we had an amazing turnout. I am truly and deeply grateful for our amazing friends, neighbours, and volunteers who came and will lend a hand, their expertise and their hearts to our cause and big day this coming Sunday!
Thrifting Queens, the countdown is officially on! 😄❤️

We hope for a great turnout and are excited to find ways to support Victim Services of Muskoka and Family Connexions from the proceeds.

Did you know that, based on 2012 statistics, 92% of individuals served by Police and Victim Services were repeat clients?
This reflects the “trauma loop”—cycles of complex trauma, poverty, violence, and limited resources that can affect individuals and families across generations.

As one former CAS worker told me, “We also serve the trauma loop.”

That insight inspired Revolving Door, a two-day workshop exploring trauma-informed support, crisis response, survivor perspectives, practical tools, and burnout prevention.

Revolving Door is a two-day workshop designed for frontline workers working with
Victims of Human Trafficking, Indigenous victims of crime, Individuals living with complex trauma, Intimate partner violence and more.
The workshop will take a deep dive into:

• The mindset and behaviours shaped by complex and generational trauma
• The survivor perspective and the science behind trauma responses
• Practical approaches for crisis intervention and ongoing case management
• Real-life scenarios and role-plays
• Supporting individuals when resources are limited or unavailable
• Recognizing the impact of our work
• Preventing burnout and staying connected to purpose

At a time when housing costs are rising, funding is limited, and many communities are facing overwhelming demand, the need for informed, compassionate, and sustainable support has never been greater.

This workshop is for those who serve people navigating the revolving door—and for anyone who wants to better understand how we can help interrupt the cycle.
