National Indigenous History Month is an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the histories, cultures, voices, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Mรฉtis Peoples. It is also a meaningful time to reflect on the importance of truth, reconciliation, and consistent action toward a more equitable future.

At the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka, we continue to deepen our understanding of Indigenous histories, perspectives, and experiences. Through ongoing learning and relationship building, we remain dedicated to fostering spaces where Indigenous voices, cultures, and experiences are honoured and uplifted.

This Pride Month, we celebrate the strength and brilliance of YMCA staff, volunteers, members, participants, donors, and partners who are part of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

The YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka continues to be committed to creating welcoming, inclusive spaces where everyone feels safe, valued, and supported to be their authentic selves. Access changes everything. When barriers are removed, people feel seen, valued, and ready to thrive. At the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka, accessibility is a priority, from inclusive spaces and programs to financial assistance and community supports that open doors for all.

National AccessAbility Week is a reminder that Canada is stronger and more accessible when inclusion is built through everyday actions, shared spaces, and a commitment to belonging for all.

Together, letโ€™s strive to be part of creating moments where everyone can participate, connect, and shine.
