In the last two years, the Liberal government has repeatedly violated workers' constitutional right to strike by invoking Section 107 of the Labour Code to force them back on the job.

Each time the government shuts down collective bargaining, it sends a clear message to big corporations: they can stonewall workers and still count on Ottawa to bail them out.

It's time to scrap Section 107! Help us protect the right to strike by adding your name: ndp.ca/repeal-section-107

Today in Ingersoll,
members of the Oxford NDP joined the Workers at Ingersoll Support Services and members of OPSEU Local 172 braving the wind and rain.

Workers at Ingersoll Support Services gave notice that they intended to strike on Monday unless the government delivered stolen wages and funding for services.

Instead of using their voice to demand funding for the services they support, management announced they will lockout workers on May 23 at 12:01 a.m.

The Oxford NDP stands in solidarity with the Workers at Ingersoll Support Services.

Today is the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT).

Here in Oxford County, we know that creating safer, more inclusive communities takes all of us. While progress has been made, many 2SLGBTQIA+ people still experience discrimination, exclusion, harassment, and barriers to safety and belonging right here in our community.

Today is a reminder to stand up against hate, support one another, and continue building spaces where everyone can live openly and authentically.

At Oxford County Pride, we are committed to celebrating, uplifting, and advocating for 2SLGBTQIA+ people across Oxford County every day of the year.

"Surely, Canada Strong includes health care, too. Without healthy Canadians, there is no Canada Strong."

Research Fellow Dr. Danyaal Raza calls for federal leadership on health care to make it a part of Prime Minister Mark Carney's nation-building agenda.

"Instead of being inspired by federal leadership to build better, your health-care peers are working and caring in a system under constant threat, whose foundations are ragged. Yet, we have heard little from this government on building our health system to support our nation."

This week is National Nursing Week.

Nurses keep our healthcare system running. They care for us when we're sick, deliver our babies, save lives in emergency rooms, and show up every single day, even when the system is failing them.

Nurses deserve better. Patients deserve better. Ontario deserves better.

Thank you to every nurse in Ontario for everything you do. We see you. We value you. And we'll keep fighting for the healthcare system you, and all of us, deserve.

We are incredibly proud of the Potter’s Field Project team for receiving the Lieutenant Governor’s Ontario Heritage Award for Excellence in Conservation at Queen’s Park.

This prestigious provincial honour recognizes the three years of hard work dedicated to restoring dignity to nearly 400 individuals buried in unmarked graves at the Ingersoll Rural Cemetery.

Huge congratulations to Dr. Cody Groat, Debbie Johnston, and student researchers Isaac Bender, Rebecca Small, and Emily Kirk. Your commitment to uncovering these lost stories has ensured that every individual's place in our history is honoured and remembered.

Thank you for bringing this pride home to Ingersoll! 💙🏛️

Striking that the Liberals and Conservatives offer the same response to pain at the pump: siphon money out of the public purse instead of Big Oil’s profits.

Oil companies are on track to make tens of billions in windfall profits from Trump’s illegal war in Iran.

It’s their profiteering that’s driving up prices. It’s them who should pay.

It’s time for price caps on gas to stop oil companies from price-gouging Canadians — and a windfall profits tax on war-time oil revenues, so the government can invest that money in the public interest.
