Council has adjusted the Agenda & Priorities Meeting schedule. Council will now hold only one monthly A&P Meeting, scheduled for the first Monday of each month.

As a result, there is no Council Meeting scheduled for Monday, October 19, 2026.

Work continues on the 51 Street Lift Station project. Work will continue for about another month, and when completed, residents will see a new lift station building on the site.

Work is also being done by a private company on the property immediately west of the lift station; please be aware that this is not a Town of Innisfail project.

The Town of Innisfail is pleased to announce that Sean Durkin has been selected, through an extensive independent executive search, as the new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO). He will be assuming his new role and responsibilities on November 16, 2026.

Durkin possesses a Diploma in Business Marketing from Sheridan College, Information Technology Management from Ryerson Polytechnic University, and MBA Essentials of Management from Schulich School of Business, York University. Combined, Durkin possesses over 25 years of municipal experience as a municipal employee, CAO, and consultant.

“I am honoured to join the Town of Innisfail as Chief Administrative Officer and grateful to Mayor Barclay and Council for their support,” said Durkin about the announcement. “I look forward to getting to know the community and working alongside Council and staff to build on Innisfail’s strengths."

Become part of a collaborative team of citizens and council members by joining a Town Committee. Sitting on a board or committee allows you to give back to the community while gaining valuable experience. The Town and all residents benefit greatly from the community-minded expertise that volunteers bring to these positions.

🔍 Age-friendly Community Committee – 2-year term (3 positions)
🔍 Innisfail Municipal Library Board – 3-year term (4 positions)

As of October 1, 2026, foam packaging and other foam food containers can now be placed in your blue recycling bin.

Acceptable items include:
✅ Meat trays
✅ Takeout containers
✅ Cups
✅ Plates
✅ Bowls
✅ Foam packaging

Before placing these items in your recycling bin, please ensure they are empty. Remember to remove any plastic film wrap and absorbent pads from meat trays.

As of October 1, 2026, more materials are being accepted in curbside and depot recycling programs across the province. Innisfail residents will see no change in their service other than an increase in the number of acceptable items that can be included in their blue recycling bins.

The RV Sani-Dump closes for the season after the Thanksgiving long weekend (October 12).

The facility will re-open in the spring, after the May long weekend in 2027 (or when temperatures are consistently above freezing). Please note that the water at the facility is shut off to prevent damage from below-freezing overnight temperatures.
