This month we recognize and celebrate the histories, cultures, and contributions of Indigenous peoples, while continuing to reflect on Truth & Reconciliation.

As part of our commitment, we offer free library cards to all Indigenous, MĂŠtis, and Inuit people living in Ontario, providing access to physical collections, digital resources, and welcoming community spaces.

We also share The Remembering Garden, inspired by Indigenous Knowledge Systems passed down through generations. We recognize that Indigenous Nations are diverse, with distinct languages, teachings, and traditions, and encourage learning from local Knowledge Keepers.

We are also honoured to take part in The Canadian Library Project, a book-wrapping initiative remembering Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit people (MMIWG2S).

From May 31 to June 6, we celebrate National AccessAbility Week, a time to recognize the contributions of those with disabilities and the importance of creating inclusive, barrier-free communities.

At the library, we’re committed to accessibility for all. We offer a variety of accessible resources and devices you can borrow, including reader pens, book stands, magnifiers, large print books, audiobooks, and more.

Everyone deserves access to stories, information, and opportunities to learn. Visit us or explore our website to discover tools and resources designed to support every reader.
