Join us this National AccessAbility Week ( ), as we celebrate the contributions of people with disabilities and promote inclusion and accessibility in communities and workplaces across Canada. This is work our team does everyday, and it’s great to see people, organizations, and communities joining in across the country.

The theme for NAAW2026 is “Building a Strong, Accessible Canada.” As the government embarks on numerous projects, from ports to railways to housing and more, Chief Accessibility Officer Stephanie Cadieux is reminding leaders and decision-makers of the importance of consulting people with disabilities and embedding accessibility into plans and designs from the very beginning.

This is a moment of opportunity to get accessibility right. If we don’t, people with disabilities – more than a quarter of the Canadian population – will continue to face systemic barriers to inclusion. Here’s to building a barrier-free Canada! We look forward to celebrating with you this week! What do you have planned?

🇨🇦 Happy Victoria Day from our family to yours!

Today we celebrate community, togetherness, and the beginning of brighter spring days across Canada.

For many families, Victoria Day is about:
☀️ Spending time outdoors
🎆 Watching fireworks
👨‍👩‍👧 Creating memories together
🌸 Enjoying moments of rest and connection

As we celebrate, we also remember that inclusion matters in every celebration.

For neurodivergent children and families:
🌟Loud noises and crowds can be overwhelming
🌟Sensory-friendly spaces matter
🌟Calm celebrations are still meaningful celebrations

There is no “right way” to celebrate.

Whether your family enjoys:
💙 Quiet time together
💙 Nature and fresh air
💙 Small gatherings
💙 Community events

Your joy matters.

🌟 May this holiday bring peace, laughter, safety, and meaningful moments for your family.

🩺💙 National Nursing Week

Rise Like A Star – Neurodiversity Families

🩺💙 This week, we honour the nurses who care with skill, compassion, and heart.

For many families especially those navigating neurodiversity, epilepsy, medical journeys, and developmental challenges nurses become more than healthcare workers.

They become:
✨ Comfort during uncertainty
✨ Calm during emergencies
✨ Advocates for families
✨ A source of strength and reassurance

💙 Nurses often see families at their most vulnerable moments.

The late nights.
The fear.
The waiting.
The hope.

And through it all, they continue showing up with care and compassion.

For families like ours, we know firsthand how much a kind, patient, and understanding nurse can mean.

Especially for neurodivergent children, inclusive and compassionate care matters deeply.

🧠 Taking time to understand sensory needs
💜 Communicating gently
🌟 Treating every child with dignity and patience

These moments are never forgotten.

💙 To every nurse:
Thank you for your sacrifices.
Thank you for your compassion.
Thank you for the lives you touch every day.

🌟 Rise Like A Star honouring those who care for families when they need it most.

🧸🧡 Bear Witness Day – May 10

Rise Like A Star – Neurodiversity Families

🧡 Bear Witness Day is about standing up for Indigenous children and ensuring their rights, safety, and well-being are never ignored.

This day reminds us that every child deserves:
✨ Equal access to care
✨ Safe homes and communities
✨ Education and support
✨ To be treated with dignity and fairness

Bear Witness Day honours the legacy of Jordan River Anderson, a young boy from Norway House Cree Nation, whose story led to Jordan’s Principle ensuring First Nations children receive the services they need without delay.

In Nunavut and across Indigenous communities, many families still face barriers when trying to access:
🧠 Disability supports
🏥 Healthcare
📚 Educational services
💜 Neurodiversity resources

No child should wait for support because of systems or jurisdiction.

🧸 To every Indigenous child:
You matter.
Your voice matters.
Your future matters.

And to every family advocating for their children every day:
We see your strength.
We stand with you.

🌟 Rise Like A Star where every child deserves access, dignity, and care.

❤️ Today we remember. We honour. We stand.

Red Dress Day is a time to bring awareness to the ongoing crisis of Missing & Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit People.

Each empty red dress represents:
A life taken.
A voice silenced.
A family forever changed.

❄️ In the North, in Inuit and Indigenous communities, this reality is deeply felt.

And for families navigating disability, neurodiversity, and vulnerability, the risks can be even greater.

This day calls us to:
✨ Speak their names
✨ Demand justice
✨ Protect our communities
✨ Stand in solidarity

❤️ This is not just remembrance—
it is a call to action and accountability.

To Indigenous families:
We see you.
We honour your strength.
We stand with you.

🌟 Rise Like A Star — where every life matters, every voice matters, and every family is protected.
