🗺️ GIS Drone Survey Scheduled – June 24, 2026 📍

A GIS (Geographic Information System) drone aerial survey has been scheduled for Wednesday, June 24, 2026. The purpose of this survey is to take pictures of the Town of Irricana for use in our GIS System Database to update mapping systems for below and above ground.

🔔 A second treatment of Gopher Control has been scheduled to start on June 24, 2026. Please allow a few days to complete the treatment, watch for signs posted in the five areas listed: https://townofirricana.ca/gopher-control-2026/

📢 Gopher Control Scheduled 📅

The Town of Irricana will conduct its Gopher Control Program the week of May 11-15, 2026, with additional treatment dates possible throughout the summer.

📍 Treatment Areas Include:
🟥 A – Irricana Cemetery (Henricks Dr)
🟦 B – South Soccer Field (Henricks Dr)
🟩 C – Irricana Off-Leash Dog Park (Henricks Dr)
🟪 D – Municipal Campground + Founders Park Ball Diamonds (1st St)
🟧 E – Main Town Entrance (Highway 9 + 2nd Ave greenspace)

🚧 What to Expect:
✔️ Signage will be posted in all treatment areas
✔️ Treatment uses non-toxic mustard seed—no harmful pesticides
✔️ Safe for residents, pets, and wildlife

Signs will be posted in all affected areas informing residents and guests of treatment areas. We are happy to note that this treatment consists of non-hazardous mustard seed, which is not toxic-pesticide based. Although there is no risk to residents or pets, we encourage everyone to avoid these areas as the remaining holes are being filled.🪧

ℹ️ The product used, RoCon, is a non-toxic, poison-free foaming solution registered with Health Canada, designed to specifically target Richardson Ground Squirrels while keeping our community safe.
