Tonight 10 of our members toured 2 facilities in town.

Thank you to Pat Ivey for giving us a tour of the Ituna Pioneer Health Care Centre. We went over their fire suppression system, protocols incase of a fire and it helped members be more familiar with the layout incase of a fire/evacuation situation. It helped having a fellow fire member that is employed there to give us more helpful information, thanks Lou!

Thank you to Glenn Leontowich over at Sunshine Manor for a tour of the facility as well as talking to some of the tenants about fire safety.

Chief, John Sopel, took 8 members out to go over setting up the tent for filling the trucks from sloughs in rural areas and a recap on running the pumps.

Thinking of the officers and their families 💙

We stand with our law enforcement partners after a tragic 24 hours across our country.

​We are wishing a full and swift recovery to our two local Melville RCMP officers injured in the line of duty last night, we are also mourning the loss of an SPVM officer and a civilian in Montreal earlier today, and keeping the second injured officer in our thoughts. Also over the last month, two other members of law-enforcement in our country suffered the same fate while serving and protecting others. We work very closely alongside our partners in law-enforcement, EMS, tow companies and so many others and tragedies like this affect us all even as a community at large. May this serve as a reminder of the strength of our community as we all stand up to support those who need it right here locally in their time of need.  check on your friends and neighbours when you see a member of the emergency services team in our community check on them too. We are better together.

Extreme Fire Conditions (Code Red) are present in most of Saskatchewan today. We will have high temperatures and strong winds in our area today. Although we have not issued a fire ban as of yet, please refrain from using that burning barrel and take caution. Farm equipment can also cause fires so keeping an extinguisher handy is best practice while you work hard to get the crop in. If you have a water tank, also a good idea to have it full at this time. Thank you and stay safe.
