Township of Conmee - Fire Ban Lifted

Date: May 18, 2026

The Township of Conmee is officially lifting the municipal fire ban, effective immediately.

Recent conditions have improved and the current fire hazard rating is low, allowing for a safe return to open air burning activities.

Residents now may resume campfires, brush or yard waste burning, use of fire pits and outdoor fireplaces, and agriculture and controlled burns.

All burning must continue to follow the township's open air burning by bylaw, and any permit requirements.

Safety Reminders

Keep a water source or fire control tools on hand.

Never leave a fire unattended.

Fully extinguish all fires before leaving the area.

Report any uncontrolled fire by calling 911.
