Effective immediately, the City of Kamloops has downgraded the drought level to 3, returning water use restrictions to normal and allowing watering up to three days a week.

Water is critical to our city and to our environment, and conservation efforts should continue year-round. Changing your watering habits and reducing the amount of water we use helps protect our ecosystems and reduces the energy used to pump, treat, and distribute water.

We would like to remind residents that the Canada Games Aquatic Centre is closed for annual maintenance until September 7, 2026.

👉 Active Full Access Passes and Pool Only Passes will be extended by 28 days to cover an additional pool closure earlier in August. These passes may be used at the Westsyde Pool until September 7.

The Brock Tot pool has been closed for unexpected maintenance for the remainder of the day. As a result, some aquatic lessons scheduled in the tot pool will be affected, and we have already started calling those who are impacted to inform them.

We expect operations to return to normal tomorrow and apologize for the inconvenience.

🌊 More swim time? Yes, please!
We've secured extra staffing at Westsyde Pool, meaning the pool, hot tub, hot rooms, and fitness studio will remain open continuously throughout the day on weekdays from August 21 to September 6.

👉 The only exceptions are August 26 and September 3, when we'll be closed from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm for staff training.

So grab your goggles, swimsuit, or gym shoes and make the most of it.
