Today was a special day as we finally had the opportunity to meet one of our newest MindSpa therapists, Adam Presenger, in person for the very first time at our Pembroke location.

While we’ve worked together and connected virtually, there’s something meaningful about finally sitting down face to face. From the moment Adam joined our team, his passion for helping others, professionalism, and commitment to supporting mental health have been evident. We couldn’t be more excited to have him serving clients in the Pembroke and Petawawa communities.

Another highlight was reconnecting with the wonderful Jane Wood, owner of NourishU Wellness. Every time we visit, we’re reminded how grateful we are for the beautiful, welcoming space she has created at NourishU Wellness. It’s more than just a wellness centre, it’s a community built around healing, growth, and supporting the whole person.

We were also very happy to spend time with Ferguson, whose calm and friendly presence added a little extra warmth to the day 🐾

NourishU offers an incredible range of services designed to support physical, mental, and emotional well being, and we are honoured to have MindSpa’s therapy services integrated within such a collaborative and client centred environment. When healthcare professionals come together with a shared vision of helping people thrive, meaningful things happen.

Thank you, Jane, for your continued partnership, generosity, and the beautiful space you’ve created for both practitioners and clients.

And welcome again, Adam. We’re so excited for the impact you’ll continue to make in the lives of those we serve.

Today reminded us how important connection is, not only for our clients, but also for the professionals and organizations working together to strengthen wellness in our communities.

We are grateful for meaningful relationships, strong partnerships, and the opportunity to work alongside such incredible people.

Many people have heard of neurofeedback, though are not always sure what it actually is.

Neurofeedback is a non-invasive form of brain training designed to help optimize brain functioning. It is often explored for concerns related to anxiety, ADHD, low motivation, fatigue, emotional regulation, and more.

In this short video, Yvonne Burwash, Director of Neurofeedback at MindSpa Mental Health Centre, shares a simple introduction to what neurofeedback is and how it may support mental wellness.

Curious about neurofeedback? We are always happy to answer questions.

Boundaries are not about pushing people away. They are about staying honest with yourself while staying in relationship with others.
When you know what you need, you can show up more fully. In your relationships, your work, your life.
This week: notice a moment when you said yes and meant something else. What would it have felt like to pause and respond from what you actually needed?

Emotional capacity isn’t about willpower.

It’s about load and how long your nervous system has been carrying it.

When stress builds over time, even small things can suddenly feel heavier than usual. Poor sleep. Irritability. Difficulty focusing. Feeling emotionally stretched thin.

Sometimes overwhelm isn’t a sign that something is wrong with you. Sometimes it’s a sign that your system has been carrying too much for too long.

Understanding our emotional capacity can help us respond with more compassion, awareness, and support instead of self criticism.

Have you noticed your emotional capacity feeling lower lately?

Feeling overwhelmed lately?

You are probably not alone, and it may have less to do with you than you think.

Today on The MindSpa Podcast, Tina and Michelle explore why so many people are feeling stretched thin, what emotional capacity actually looks like when it starts to run low, and why overwhelm is not always a sign that something is wrong.

They discuss the idea of the “stress bucket,” how overload builds over time, and practical ways to create more emotional space in everyday life.

When you ask a therapist a simple yes-or-no question…

And somehow still leave with:

“Do whatever you’re comfortable with.”

A small spring moment outside MindSpa at our Kanata location.

The quieter moments. The changing seasons. The reminder that growth often happens gradually, even when we cannot always see it right away.
