Perimenopause and menopause can bring changes that reach far beyond physical symptoms. They may also affect identity, emotions, relationships, body awareness and a person’s sense of purpose.

Second Spring is an eight-week, in-person art therapy group for women navigating perimenopause and menopause. Through creative expression, guided reflection and connection with others, participants will have space to explore this changing season of life.

No previous art experience is required. The focus is on expression and reflection, not artistic ability.

Wednesdays, October 7 to November 25, 2026
7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
MindSpa Mental Health Centre, Gloucester
6 to 10 participants
$60 + HST per session

Financial stress can affect how we sleep, how we relate to the people around us, the decisions we avoid, and even how secure we feel day to day.

Tina Wilston recently sat down with Melany Goodhue, Certified Financial Planner® and founder of Pulse Wealth Management, for an upcoming episode of The MindSpa Podcast.

Their conversation explores the human side of money , financial anxiety, avoidance, emotional spending, the money stories we grow up with, and how finances can show up in our relationships.

Melany’s episode will be released in September.
In the meantime, we’ve published an article exploring why conversations about money are often connected to mental and emotional wellbeing too. Link in bio.

Mental health care doesn’t live in isolation.

During a recent visit to the Ottawa Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinic, Tina had the opportunity to connect with Hoda Mankal, Executive Director, and learn more about the work being done to support accessible, community-based care in Ottawa.

At MindSpa, we see how closely mental health is connected to the rest of our lives, sleep, stress, relationships, physical health, access to care and the support systems around us.

That’s why conversations and connections across our local health-care community matter.

OttawaNPLC is also preparing for its First Annual Golf Tournament on September 13 at Pine View Championship Golf Course, with proceeds supporting client-related expenses, group programming, basic necessities and other unfunded needs that directly support client care.

If their work resonates with you, consider sharing the event or joining them on September 13. ⛳

A look inside one of our therapy offices at MindSpa Kanata.

This space was thoughtfully set up to support different types of therapy. One area includes creative and sensory tools that can be used during sessions with children, while another offers a comfortable setting for more conversation-based therapy with adults, couples and families.

Creating a space that feels welcoming, flexible and appropriate for each client is an important part of the therapeutic experience.

We all want to feel like we belong.

Not because we need everyone to agree with us.

Not because we need to fit in.

But because feeling accepted, understood, and connected is an important part of being human.

Belonging can come from family, friendships, community, shared experiences, or relationships where you feel safe enough to be yourself.
When we experience belonging, we often feel more supported, more resilient, and less alone during difficult times.
And when belonging feels missing, it can have a meaningful impact on our emotional well-being.

A gentle reminder today:
You do not have to change who you are to deserve connection.
You deserve spaces where you feel accepted, valued, and understood.

For Michelle Weger, automation became a meaningful way to conserve energy while building a business with narcolepsy.

During the early stages of entrepreneurship, Michelle taught herself to code through online classes offered by MIT. She then created systems that could manage repetitive tasks and preserve her energy for the work that mattered most.

Sometimes, accessibility means creating a way of working that respects your needs, strengths and available energy.
