The Village of Kaslo is the oldest incorporated community in the Kootenays, and is located 70 kilometers north of Nelson on Highway 31 on the western shore of Kootenay Lake. With a rich and colourful history, this community is also accessible by boat or through its small airfield. The page is primarily used for information outreach - we do not have the staff capacity to respond to messaging and co

The Village of Kaslo recognizes the passing of Councillor Rob Lang.
With deepest gratitude and respect, we sincerely thank him for his years of dedication and service on behalf of our community.
Our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.
As a demonstration of our respect, Mayor Suzan Hewat requested that the Village flag be flown at half-mast. In accordance with the Province of British Columbia's flag protocol for a serving councillor, the flag at Village Hall will remain at half-mast through sunset today.
We honour Councillor Lang's service and contributions to our community.
