The Village of Kaslo is the oldest incorporated community in the Kootenays, and is located 70 kilometers north of Nelson on Highway 31 on the western shore of Kootenay Lake. With a rich and colourful history, this community is also accessible by boat or through its small airfield. The page is primarily used for information outreach - we do not have the staff capacity to respond to messaging and comments consistently, so it should not be used for conveying critical information or bylaw enforcement complaints.
