Last night at training, Otonabee-South Monaghan Fire Department Station 2 proudly pushed the new Pump 2 into service 🚒

Did you know?
The tradition of “pushing in” a new fire apparatus dates back to the 19th century, when horse-drawn fire wagons had to be manually pushed into the station, since horses couldn’t back them in.

Today, this ceremonial push honours that history while marking the official start of service for new equipment. It’s a moment that reflects teamwork, dedication, and the community’s investment in keeping everyone safe.

Congratulations to all involved in bringing Pump 2 into service!
