🧡 AFTERNOON READING CIRCLE FOR RECONCILIATION 🧡
From 2010 to 2015, the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) listened to and documented the experiences of residential school Survivors, families, and communities personally affected by the residential school system. In June of 2015, the TRC released its Final Report from these stories, including the 94 Calls to Action for Canadians.
We invite you to join us for an afternoon Reading Circle for Reconciliation: a five-part community focused reading circle centered on the Executive Summary of the Final Report of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada. Together, we will read, reflect, and discuss the report, creating space to learn from the truth, consider our responsibilities, and create a path forward for reconciliation to take root.
The five sessions:
September 8 • October 13 • November 10 • December 9 • January 12
Time: 12:00–1:30 PM
Location: Kelowna Branch, Okanagan Regional Library (1380 Ellis Street)
Pre-registration is required by September 3. Once registered, arrangements will be made for you to receive a copy of the Executive Summary.
Open anyone interested in learning, listening, and reflecting, no prior knowledge or experience is required.
