A special thank you to the West Kelowna Rotary Club for their generous $5,000 donation in support of our Not Alone: Bridging the Gap campaign to help bring Foundry to the Westside.

This contribution will specifically help furnish the future Foundry space on the Westside with youth-friendly furniture and welcoming touches that help young people feel comfortable, safe, and supported from the moment they walk through the door.

The West Kelowna Rotary Club are a strong Friend of Foundry, and we deeply appreciate their commitment to supporting the health and well-being of young people and families across the Westside.

Yesterday, we had the privilege of welcoming Honourable Ministers Jodie Wickens, Josie Osborne, Sheila Malcolmson, and Parliamentary Secretaries Dana Lajeunesse and Debra Toporowski to Foundry Kelowna.

As we walked through our space, we shared stories of impact, partnership, and community, including the youth advocates and Indigenous voices that help shape our work, as well as innovative local approaches to supporting our community through youth housing, employment as a health service, and our integrated mental health crisis response through CRCL.

Over the past year, Foundry Kelowna supported 1,639 young people through a record 10,224 appointments. But numbers only tell part of the story. More than a service, Foundry is a place where young people and caregivers can access support, build connections, and find a sense of belonging.

Thank you to our visitors for taking the time to learn more about the collective effort helping strengthen the health and well-being of our community.

Today, we stood before West Kelowna City Council and talked about our vision for a Foundry site on the Westside and celebrated a major milestone in our Not Alone: Bridging the Gap Campaign - securing a location for the future Foundry site.

The site will be located at #105 – 2370 Bering Rd. in Westbank, and we are excited for what this will mean for a young person struggling with their mental health, a parent trying to find support, or a family navigating challenges alone.

The Council's response gave us a lot of us hope.

Council voiced its support. Community leaders recognized the need. And Mayor Gord Milsom had a message for residents and businesses:

"Please, to our residents and our businesses, support this cause. It's really important to our youth."

That support matters because this isn't just about securing a location. It's about building it out, bringing in staff and welcoming young people into a place where they can find help, connection and hope closer to home.

The momentum is building. The vision is becoming real. And together, we can help ensure young people and families on the Westside are not alone.

Every donation moves the opening date closer.

Have you watched Seamus' story yet?

Seamus’ reflection gets to the heart of why we're working to bring Foundry services to the Westside.

In his story, Seamus shares how support helped him move forward and build a future centered around his passion for music. Today, he's playing the keys, releasing original music, and pursuing new opportunities.

For us, it's the reminder that the right support at the right time can change the course of a young person's life.

As we work to bring Foundry services to the Westside through our Not Alone: Bridging the Gap campaign, we're helping ensure more young people and families can access supports that are closer to home and impactful.

If you haven't watched Seamus' story yet, we invite you to take a few minutes and hear his journey on our page, Website or YouTube: https://youtu.be/DYfjZ9-Ko_4

Once open, the future Foundry site on the Westside will offer:

☑️Walk-in mental health counselling
☑️Family navigation and support
☑️Peer support
☑️Connections to substance use services, primary care, and community supports

Every donation moves the opening date closer.

More than 1 in 3 young people in B.C. report needing mental health support but not getting it.

The reasons are many — distance, transportation, stigma, long waits, or simply not knowing where to turn for help.

In this episode of A Way Forward, host Jessica Samuels and guests, Delaney Nuekomm and Kirsten Charles explore how the Not Alone: Bridging the Gap campaign aims to change that by bringing Foundry supports closer to young people and families on the Westside.

No young person should have to face their mental health challenges alone.

Happy Pride Month! 🌈

This month, we celebrate the diversity, resilience, and contributions of 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals and communities, while reaffirming our commitment to creating spaces where everyone feels safe, valued, respected, and supported.

At CMHA Kelowna & District, we know that connection, belonging, and being able to show up as your authentic self are important to mental health and well-being. Pride is a celebration, but it is also a reminder of the ongoing work needed to build more inclusive communities for all.

To our 2SLGBTQIA+ community members, staff, volunteers, partners, and friends: we see you, we celebrate you, and we stand with you.

🏳️‍🌈 Happy Pride Month.

Today, Seamus is pursuing his passion for music, playing the keys and releasing original songs. But his journey to get here wasn't one he had to take alone.

His story shows what's possible when young people have access to support, connection, and a community that believes in them.

This is why we're working to bring Foundry services to the Westside through our Not Alone: Bridging the Gap campaign.

Once open, the future Foundry site on the Westside will offer:

☑️Walk-in mental health counselling
