Heading out on the water in Peachland or West Kelowna this weekend? Keep an eye out for our new boat ramp stencils!

We all love Okanagan Lake, which means we all have a role to play in keeping invasive mussels out of B.C. It only takes one contaminated watercraft to change our ecosystem forever. Theyโ€™re here as a friendly (but firm) reminder: ๐ƒ๐จ๐งโ€™๐ญ ๐Œ๐จ๐ฏ๐ž ๐€ ๐Œ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ž๐ฅ! ๐Ÿฆช๐Ÿšซ

A sincere thank you to the City of West Kelowna and the District of Peachland for their continued partnership and support in protecting these shared waters.

Together, we can help keep invasive mussels out of our lakes for generations to come.

Despite recent rainfall, water scarcity is still a serious concern across the Okanagan.

๐ŸšฐLocal conditions remain dry and impacts are hitting our local communities differently. Many water utilities are already moving to elevated early-season restrictions to preserve supply.

Let's talk rain and drought, over a coffee. โ˜•๐Ÿ’ง

If Penticton normally gets a Grande-sized coffee worth of rain by late May โ€” this year it's gotten barely a Demi and an Espresso shot combined. Just 21% of expected precipitation.

May rain helped a little. But we're still missing a lot โ€” and summer hasn't even started.

The Province set the Okanagan at Drought Level 5 today, the highest level, and weโ€™ve rounded up conditions in our second Drought Bulletin of 2026.
