Regional District of Central Okanagan The Regional District of Central Okanagan is the local government in the BC Interior We help protect the quality of life for all citizens.

The Regional District of Central Okanagan (RDCO) is a local government which encompasses two unincorporated electoral areas and the member municipalities of Kelowna, Lake Country, Peachland and West Kelowna. Our mission is to help enhance the quality of life for all citizens by planning for the future, while delivering efficient and cost-effective services to the region that support the environment, economic development, sustainable communities and transportation. The RDCO encompasses over 314,000 hectares of diverse topography straddling the shoreline of Okanagan Lake in the beautiful Okanagan Valley of British Columbia’s Southern Interior. Recreational opportunities abound from our mountain peaks, lakes and fantastic sandy beaches and naturally forested areas. We acknowledge our presence on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded tm̓xʷúlaʔxʷ (land) of the syilx / Okanagan people who have resided here since time immemorial. We recognize, honour, and respect the syilx / Okanagan lands upon which we live, work, and play.

⚠️ Cleaning out your garage or shed? Not every unwanted item belongs in your garbage or recycling cart.

Paint, batteries, fuels, propane cylinders, pesticides, cleaners and other household hazardous waste can start fires, injure workers, contaminate water and soil, and damage equipment when placed in curbside carts.
If a product is labeled flammable, toxic, corrosive or reactive, it requires special handling and should never go in your garbage or recycling.

✅ Take household hazardous waste to an approved drop-off location, such as Kelowna Recycling (Battery Doctors)

Protect our workers, our community and our environment by disposing of hazardous waste the right way. 💚

Tips for success:
• Keep products in their original containers
• Do not bring empty containers (except paint cans)
• Pack materials upright in an open box for transport
• Leaking containers, industrial waste and commercial waste will not be accepted

The COEDC is seeking business and industry leaders to join its 2027 Advisory Committee. Members play an important role in identifying opportunities, sharing sector insights and helping ensure economic development initiatives reflect the needs of businesses across the region. We are particularly interested in hearing from leaders in aerospace and manufacturing, construction and development, health, and hospitality and tourism sectors.

Completed mail ballots must be received by the RDCO Chief Electoral Officer no later than 8:00 p.m. on October 17, 2026. A postmark is not enough, and ballots received after the deadline will not be counted.

The Wilson's Landing Fire Department is recruiting paid-on-call firefighters and looking for community-minded individuals ready to serve when their neighbours need them most.
