When temperatures rise, many of us head to the water to cool off. ☀️🌊

From afternoons at the lake or river to pool days and evenings on the boat, a few simple precautions can help keep everyone safe.

As you enjoy the water this summer, take care of yourself and the people around you.

▶️ Wear a lifejacket when you're on the water, whether you're boating, paddleboarding, kayaking or jet skiing
▶️ Do not consume alcohol or use drugs—Clear judgement can save lives
▶️ Keep children within arm's reach near the water
▶️ Never swim alone. Know your limits and use the buddy system

⚠️ Air quality warning in effect.

Wildfire smoke is affecting air quality in parts of the Interior.

Smoke can affect anyone, but those with chronic conditions such as asthma, heart disease or diabetes, as well as pregnant people, infants and young children are most affected by wildfire smoke.

To help protect your health during smoky conditions:
✅ Spend less time outdoors when smoke levels are high
✅ Keep windows and doors closed if it stays cool indoors
✅ Use a portable air cleaner if available
✅ Wear a well-fitted respirator (such as an N95) if you need to be outside
✅ Follow your care plan and keep medications on hand
