KGM is a multi-service social agency that reaches out to people experiencing homelessness and povert

Kelowna’s Gospel Mission was founded in 1977 by a handful of students from the Okanagan Bible School. They all shared one thing--the desire to reach out to Kelowna’s impoverished population with love, faith and support. For over 40 years, KGM has continued to grow, driving change and meeting needs in our community. Today we offer nutritious meals, emergency shelter for both men and women, a dental

clinic for low-income patients, a thrift store, and more. Please join us in turning homelessness into wholeness today.

What an incredible day for our community.

Our team at Kelowna’s Gospel Mission was grateful to join our community for the Payton & Dillon Budd Memorial Ride + Walk, presented by NIXON Hospitality Group, in support of mental health, remembrance, and hope.

With about 800 participants and over $200,000 raised and counting, this event was a beautiful reminder of what can happen when a community comes together with love, purpose, and hope.

Thank you to everyone who participated, donated, volunteered, organized, and supported this powerful event. We are grateful to be part of a community that continues to show up for one another.

Meet Katie, our Fund Development Specialist!

Katie is one of the people behind the scenes building relationships with our donors and connecting our community to the work happening here at Kelowna's Gospel Mission.

When we asked her why this work matters, here's what she shared: "I try to lead everything I do with my heart, and as a proud Christian, the roots and driving force behind Kelowna's Gospel Mission align strongly with my faith, so this role felt like a dream opportunity from the start. With the growing need in our community so visible, getting to contribute to an organization making a real impact right here felt like a tremendous honour. I've always wanted to help keep vital resources like this running, and doing that through fundraising feels like a blessing. I'm naturally social and love connecting with people, so using those strengths to support something bigger than myself has been incredibly meaningful. Since starting, I've experienced shelter, outreach, and kitchen shifts firsthand, and have been truly humbled by the care and dedication that goes into serving those in need every single day."

Some of the best moments at the shelter happen when volunteers walk through our doors, and this one was definitely one of them.

We were so happy to welcome the Kelowna Christian Center team back to our Leon Shelter. They volunteered with us last year, and we were so touched that they chose to come back again. They rolled up their sleeves for some dorm cleaning and brought so much warmth and good energy with them.

Thank you, Kelowna Christian Center, for showing up for us again and for making such a difference. 🙏

Did you know?

Over the past year, our Outreach Team has spent countless hours out in the community, meeting our unhoused neighbours right where they are. Sometimes that means a conversation on a quiet morning. Sometimes it means walking alongside someone on one of the hardest days of their life.

Through this work, our team made 440 shelter referrals, including referrals to KGM shelters and other shelters in Kelowna. They also helped connect 9 individuals to temporary and permanent housing, offering a pathway toward greater stability and hope.

This happens one conversation, one connection, and one step at a time. And it is only possible because of people like you. Your generosity helps us continue showing up with compassion, dignity, and practical care.
