Kelowna’s Gospel Mission was founded in 1977 by a handful of students from the Okanagan Bible School. They all shared one thing--the desire to reach out to Kelowna’s impoverished population with love, faith and support. For over 40 years, KGM has continued to grow, driving change and meeting needs in our community. Today we offer nutritious meals, emergency shelter for both men and women, a dental

🦷 Did you know?

Last year, 2,635 visits were made to the Dental Clinic at Kelowna's Gospel Mission.

That's more than 50 visits every week, including seniors, children, and people who may have gone without care because the cost of regular dental treatment was out of reach.

A painful tooth finally treated.
A smile someone feels comfortable sharing again.
A little less worry about the cost of getting care.

Thanks to the generosity of our community, more people can get the care they have been putting off. Because dental care is about more than teeth. It can change how you eat, how you sleep, and how you feel walking into a room.

A big thank you to Kelowna Chevrolet for generously donating a new fridge to support our Outreach Team. 🙏

This new fridge will help our Outreach Team keep food fresh and ready for the neighbours they connect with throughout our community.

We’re also grateful to Joy at the Lake Country Food Bank, Steph from Cabin5Canada, Canadian Restaurant Supply Ltd. and ACE Courier Service for helping bring everything together so quickly.

It’s a beautiful example of what can happen when our community sees a need and steps in to help.

What an incredible day for our community! 🥔

Last Saturday our team was at Ugly Potato Day, hosted by Helen's Acres in partnership with Odd Bunch

Together, 120,000 pounds of fresh produce were rescued and shared with the community instead of going to waste.

It was wonderful to see volunteers, local farms, organizations, and neighbours come together to share good food and care for one another.

As we head into the BC Day long weekend and the start of a new month, we want to take a moment to say thank you to our donors, volunteers, staff, and community partners who continue to show up for our neighbours.

Summer doesn't slow us down. Our Outreach Team is out in the community every day, checking on neighbours living outdoors, serving meals, and offering care and support. Our kitchen team continues to prepare meals for shelter residents and neighbours in need, and our shelter teams keep providing a safe, welcoming place to land.

During hot weather, our Outreach Team continues to meet neighbours where they are across the community.

When someone is experiencing heat distress, our team can offer practical support such as instant ice packs, cold water and electrolytes to help them cool down and stay hydrated. These supplies are often accompanied by a caring conversation, a safety check and a connection to additional support when needed.
