We are booking for the Lake of the Woods District Stewardship Association metal waste pickup for the August 6th date at Pyeโs Landing. Please contact us if you have anything you would like removed and barged over and taken by land. FYI there will only be land access for the drop off.
Come and drop off your scrap metal, batteries, electronics and more.
On Saturday August 6th, 2022 your LOWDSA LakeSmart team will be at Pyes Landing, Clearwater Bay from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm recycling your unwanted metals, electronics, and batteries. Come join us to keep our environment and lakes clean. There will only be a bin accessible by road and no bin accessible by water for those coming from the lake. Please do not come by water as the docks have sustained some damage with the high water. Road access only.
Instead of burning and crushing the materials of metal scrap and old electronics, a better, more environmentally friendly method is recycling. The production of recycled aluminum is 92% more energy-efficient than making new aluminum!
Over time, electronics can leak toxic elements, like mercury and lead, which can be harmful to the environment and to humans. Donating your electronics for reuse or recycling them at safely managed sites helps control the hazards.
If you have any questions or would like to volunteer, email [email protected].
We look forward to seeing you there!
