Blue Jean Jacket Day πŸ’™πŸͺΆ

No More Stolen Brothers. Today we honour and remember the lives of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Men, Boys, and Two-Spirit People. We hold up the families and communities who continue to carry this grief, and we stand with them in love, strength, and support.

This day is a reminder that this crisis is ongoing. We continue to call for justice, accountability, and meaningful action to ensure the safety, dignity, and respect of Indigenous Men, Boys, and Two-Spirit People across Treaty #3 and beyond.

We encourage everyone to take time to reflect, learn, and stand together.

The Blue Jean Jacket Campaign brought people together in Fort Frances on June 4th to raise awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Men and Boys (MMIMB).

Through learning, conversation, and creative expression, participants showed their support and solidarity while helping to bring greater awareness to this important issue.

Miigwech to everyone who participated and contributed to making these gatherings meaningful. Together, we continue to honour, remember, and advocate for Indigenous men and boys, their families, and their communities.

Blue Jean Jacket Day is tomorrow, June 6. We encourage everyone to wear a blue jean jacket to show their support and help raise awareness. πŸ’™πŸ©΅

The next Blue Jean Jacket Campaign gathering will take place in Kenora on June 9. We look forward to continuing these important conversations and raising awareness.

With the weather we’ve been seeing lately, fire risk is high and we’re already starting to see fires pop up across the region.

Now is a really good time to make sure your band lists and vulnerable persons lists are up to date. These make a big difference during an emergency and help things run smoother when quick decisions need to be made.

The FFHS powwow will take place this Wednesday, June 3rd in the soccer field. Come out and support our local drummers and dancers.
