KPDSB student representatives from Red Lake, Sioux Lookout, Dryden, Ignace and Kenora took part in a Leadership Camp from June 2 to 4 at B'nai Brith (BB CAMP). During their 3-day immersive camp experience without phones/technology, students learned leadership skills through outdoor activities with themed guided discussions and reflections. For example, the high ropes activity helped students learn about trust and what it means to have trust as a leader, while the canoeing activity was meant to teach communication and teamwork as a leader.

Students also participated in creating high school action plans to form a Leadership Group (Student Council) to promote positive school culture, and planned their first event for the fall. They presented these action plans, highlighting their goals and leadership plans for the 2026-2027 school year. Attendees formed new friendships, stepped out of their comfort zones and grew as future leaders of KPDSB.
