September is Cortical Visual Impairment Month
Cerebral/Cortical Visual Impairment, or CVI, is the leading cause of blindness and low vision in children. At FIREFLY, we know early support can make a big difference. With the right help, children with CVI can learn, build skills, connect with others, and take part at home, at school, and in the community. Today, we recognize International Overdose Awareness Day. This is a time to remember those we have lost, support families and communities, and share information that can help save lives, like this Canadian Red Cross article, How to Recognize and Respond to Opioid Poisoning. Safe storage of all medications and substances is one important way to help protect children, youth, families, and communities. Together, we can help build caring and informed communities.
