The KVFD was established in 1888, and provides Fire Protection services to the Town of Kentville, surrounding Municipality of the County of Kings, and active participants in the Kings County Mutual Aid Agreement. Members of the Kentville Fire Department are involved with specialty services alongside Wolfville Fire Dept., Canning Fire Dept., Waterville Fire Dept. and New Minas Fire Dept. These serv

Our membership is diverse, equal opportunity and entirely volunteer. If you are ever in the Town of Kentville, please stop by and meet our friendly staff, explore our state-of-the-art equipment, and take a tour of the facility (which includes a museum).

50/50 Donation in Memory of Joel Neily

During our Glow Bingo event, a 50/50 fundraiser was held in memory of Joel Neily, a dedicated member of the Kentville Volunteer Fire Department who recently passed away following a courageous battle with firefighting-related cancer.

The Kentville Volunteer Fire Department is an integral part of the Apple Blossom Festival, providing support, leadership, and service to our community year after year. We are honoured to recognize Joel’s memory in this meaningful way.

Thanks to the generosity of our Glow Bingo participants, $773 was raised and will be donated to The FireSafe Foundation in accordance with Joel’s wishes.

On behalf of the Apple Blossom Festival and our community, thank you to everyone who contributed. Together, we honour Joel’s legacy and support the important work of assisting firefighters and their families.
