We are looking for used magazines for our Go Girls! Program! The youth (middle school aged) will be using them to create vision boards as an activity during the program. If you have any you'd like to donate, they can be dropped off at our office.

We are excited to welcome Kate and Nora as a new match this month! They are excited to check out some fun activities together including visiting some animals at the Dragonfly Haven Therapeutic Farm, getting Boba at Valley Bubble Tea and Ice Cream here in Kentville, and reading lots of books at the Kentville Library Annapolis Valley Regional Library! 🐴🧋📚

💫Get To Know Our Staff 💫

We were just so excited for her to jump right in, we missed officially introducing our newest staff member, Amy Tanner, in the role of Community Engagement & Events Specialist! So we thought today on her 1-year anniversary with us would be the perfect day for it.

Amy has worked for more than 2 decades in the non-profit community in a variety of roles; specifically with youth, families, and volunteers. Before moving to the Annapolis Valley, Amy worked for almost 10 years at one of the BBBS agencies in NB so she has a strong passion and connection for the work that we do!

Since joining our team in August of last year, Amy’s been busy organizing fundraisers and creating new events while engaging with our communities to raise awareness and support for youth mentoring.

In her personal time, Amy enjoys being outdoors; hiking, biking or being near the ocean. She’s also an avid reader and enjoys hobbies where she can be creative.

We are looking for 4 volunteers who would be interested in being Big Sisters!

Every child deserves someone in their corner. Someone who listens, encourages, has fun, and reminds them of their potential.

Through mentoring, you can make a lasting impact by spending just a couple hours a week building a meaningful relationship with a young person.

Whether it’s playing a game, doing a craft, talking, exploring, or simply being there, you can help a child build confidence, resilience, and a stronger sense of belonging.

With the start of the school year just a few weeks away, we’re getting ready for our In-School Mentoring and Teen In-School Mentoring programs this Fall!

We’re busy putting together and refreshing our mentoring bins, filled with fun activities, games, and supplies for matches to enjoy during their weekly mentoring hour at participating schools.

From games and crafts to conversation starters and activities, these bins help make each mentoring hour a chance to connect, have fun, and build meaningful relationships.

We can’t wait to see our mentors and youth back together, as well as making new matches, and make this school year one to remember!
