The Fall Fair Zucchini Car Races are coming up, and it is time to get started on your custom speed machine.
Do you have what it takes to cross the finish line first? Grab a zucchini, add some wheels, and let your imagination run wild!
The Rules:
- Must be built on a real zucchini
- Axles must go through the zucchini
- Vehicles must rely on gravity (no motors!)
- Creative decorating with paint, markers, and googly eyes is heavily encouraged

Bring your racer to the Fall Fair on September 12. Winner takes home one of Daniโ€™s famous caramel apples!

Drop a ๐Ÿฅ’ in the comments if you are building a racer this year.

Wildfire evacuees: We would like to offer you free entry to the Grist Mill and Gardens in Keremeos today (Monday, August 10). Please, bring your family and make a day of wandering our peaceful gardens, exploring the historic buildings and enjoying some lawn games out on the Mill lawn. Our hope is that the distraction will do some good for your spirits. (Bonus: the smoke isnโ€™t as bad down here as it is in Penticton)

Summerland evacuees: we have some space at the Grist Mill campground. If you need a place to get to tonight with your camper or tent, you are welcome here. Itโ€™s unmanned, but if there is an open space please take it and we can regroup in the morning. Dogs are welcome as long as they are on leash.

The little creekside campground at the Grist Mill and Gardens is one of the best kept secrets in the Similkameen Valley.
With just 11 hook-up sites and a handful of tent sites, it feels quaint and peaceful, even when weโ€™re fully booked.
We love seeing friends and families take time to reconnect, rest and play amongst the shade of the cottonwood trees.
This year, weโ€™re offering free admission to the site for all campers so they can wander over and enjoy our beautiful gardens and historic buildings at their leisure.
If you havenโ€™t had a chance to stay with us yet, weโ€™d love to give you a Grist Mill welcome!
