Volunteers Needed to Keep Inclusive Community Gardens Growing

The Inclusive Community Gardens are at risk of disappearing unless new volunteers step forward to help carry on this important community legacy.
The current garden lead can no longer continue due to health reasons and would hate to see the gardens come to an end.

Why the Gardens Matter
The gardens help combat food insecurity by providing residents of Keremeos with a wide variety of fresh produce. They also offer:
• Healthy food for all;
• A place for community to gather and support each other;
• A place to relax with nature; and
• An opportunity to share your time and talents through volunteering.

Volunteer Help Needed
Volunteers are needed for leading, planting, harvesting, maintenance, irrigation, and building. Any amount of help can make a meaningful difference.

This notice is a friendly reminder for residents who may be eligible to claim the Homeowner Grant on their property taxes but have not yet done so. If the grant was not claimed by July 2nd, an automatic penalty has been applied and the account currently shows an outstanding balance. Please note that if the account remains unpaid as of January 1st, interest charges will begin to accrue.

If you need to update your mailing address or other property ownership information, please contact BC Assessment, as our property owner records are based on the information they provide.

Our apologies for the unavailability of our website late last week. A broken air conditioner at a data center in Phoenix, AZ, that serves our website shut their whole system down.
The agenda package can now be viewed for today's Council Meeting at 4:30pm by visiting keremeos.ca.
There will be a Committee of the Whole meeting preceding the regular Council meeting at 3:00pm. The agenda is also available for viewing at keremeos.ca.

The next meeting of Council will be held Monday, August 17, 2026 at 4:30pm in Council Chambers, 702 4th Street. Our website is currently unavailable to be able to view the agenda. The agenda is posted at the Village Office, including the window so that it can be seen while office is closed. Our apologies for this inconvenience.

Interested in running for Council this October? There will be a Candidate Information Session tomorrow, Thursday, August 13th, at 4:30pm, in Council Chambers, 702 4th Street, Keremeos. This session will help potential candidates understand what it means to serve on Village Council. This can also be helpful for voters to understand how local government works.

The RDOS is conducting a survey for the Village of Keremeos Community Wildfire Resiliency Plan. The survey is about impact caused by wildfire in our community and priorities for wildfire management. Please take the time to do the survey at www.keremeos.ca
