Our thoughts and prayers are with the families, friends and colleagues of these fallen officers.

Message from the Commissioner:

"I am deeply troubled and saddened by the recent shootings across the country targeting police officers, resulting in serious injuries and tragic loss of life.

These acts of violence are senseless and unacceptable. Every day, law enforcement personnel put themselves in harm’s way to protect others and keep our communities safe. When violence is directed at those who serve, it is not only an attack on police officers, it is an attack on the very communities we are sworn to protect.

On behalf of the RCMP, I extend my heartfelt thoughts to the injured officers and to those mourning the loss of colleagues who have died in the line of duty. To their families, loved ones, and to all members of the law enforcement community affected by these events, you have our deepest support and solidarity.

The RCMP extends our full support to our law enforcement colleagues as we navigate the profound impacts of these devastating acts of violence."

We know heroes come in all shapes and sizes!

We’d like to take a moment to express our gratitude for our fluffy, four-legged heroes that help keep our communities safe from coast-to-coast-to-coast.

Police dogs and their handlers answer the call of duty 24/7, playing an important role in solving some of the most difficult cases across the country. Handlers and their police dogs often sacrifice time with their own families (and some belly rubs!), to be on the job when we need them the most.

Thank you to all police dogs and handlers across Canada for helping to keep our communities safe this year!

Kimberley RCMP executed search warrants on four houses at 5:30 a.m. on June 17, as part of an undercover drug operation. Police presence in the community was elevated at that time. Three people are facing charges.

Fentanyl, co***ne and methamphetamine were found alongside drug packaging materials, cash and two loaded fi****ms at four properties which are located on Wallinger Ave., Norton Ave., Church Ave., and near the Kimberley Alpine Resort. These locations are believed to be connected as part of the same drug ring.

Meet Arlo, just starting his journey at the RCMP Police Dog Training Centre.

His days begin with breakfast and cuddles, followed by playtime that builds his instincts. Kennel staff teach Arlo and his siblings to retrieve, chase, and explore new environments. Later, they go on group walks to socialize and sniff out new scents. After a busy day, Arlo snuggles up with his mom for a well-earned snooze.

Good luck, Arlo, we can’t wait to see the hero you’ll become!
