Women's House Serving Bruce & Grey Women’s House provides a safe haven for victims/survivors, knowing that ending violence is a community responsibility. Safety planning. Increased safety.

We will work towards ending violence through knowledge, which is power, in order to create change. In-House Safe Shelter Services: A safe, secure and supportive environment to accommodate up to 13 women and children for up to 6 weeks. Counsellor on duty 24-7.

Child Witness Program: Education for parents re

garding the effects on children who witness abuse. Individual and group counselling for children between the ages of 4 and 16. Ex: Healthy Relationships and Anti-Bullying Programs. Outreach Counselling Services:
Individual outreach counselling available in Chesley, Durham, Hanover, Kincardine, Markdale, Meaford, Owen Sound, Port Elgin, Southampton, Walkerton and Wiarton
Education and non-judgmental support for women who have experienced abuse. Group counselling provided throughout Bruce & Grey counties in areas of need such as: Rebuilding When Your Relationship Ends, Finding Your Own Voice, Dealing with Anger and Self Esteem. Sexual Assault Services:
Confidential support for women 16 years of age and over who have been sexually assaulted recently, in the past or in their current intimate relationship

A trained and supportive sexual assault counsellor provides support, counselling, advocacy, accompaniment to the police, court or hospital, information and referrals to other services

24/7 sexual assault crisis and support line (1-866-578-5566)

Second Stage Housing: Units provide one year of safe, adequate housing for women and their children. Port Elgin (4 Units) opened November 2009, Wiarton (3 Units) opened December 2010, and Kincardine (3 Units) opened January 2011. On-site individual and group counselling


Transitional and Housing Support: Transitional Worker(TW) assists women in developing a transition plan
TW acts as an advocate on her behalf in seeking assistance in the areas of:
Housing
Education
Job training
Income support
Legal aid
Children’s Aid advocacy
Transportation
Childcare

Community Development: Educates the public on our services through public speaking engagements and presentations. Our commitment is to social change through EDUCATION and advocacy in order to achieve social justice for all women. If you would like to book a presentation, please contact 519-396-9814 Ex 225. Volunteer Services: We have a volunteer Board of Directors, volunteer drivers and a number of other volunteers that perform a variety of important duties such as; photocopying, answering business phones, helping with donations and ad mail campaigns, maintenance and a host of other jobs. *If interested in volunteering, please contact 519-372-1113 Ex 225*
