What is a Registered Behaviour Analyst (R.B.A.)? đź’™

An R.B.A. is an expert in Applied Behaviour Analysis who works alongside children, families, and therapy teams to support meaningful skill development and everyday success.

At the heart of ABA is connection, compassion, and collaboration. Our goal is never to change who a child is — it’s to support them in learning, growing, thriving, and accessing the world in ways that feel safe, meaningful, and empowering for them. 🌱

Every child deserves support that celebrates their individuality while helping them reach their goals with confidence.

School readiness starts with confidence đź’›
At Children’s Wellness Centre, we support children in building the skills they need to thrive in the classroom—one small step at a time.

From sitting and listening, to following routines, to growing independence, we meet each child where they’re at and build from their strengths.

✨ Learn, grow, thrive.

At the Children’s Wellness Centre, we utilize Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to support children in developing social-emotional learning (SEL) and emotional regulation.

We achieve this by teaching these skills using a structured, measurable, and individualized approach. Rather than assuming that children will naturally acquire these abilities, we assess their current skills and break down the necessary components into clear, teachable steps—such as recognizing emotions, communicating needs, taking turns, tolerating delayed access to preferred items, and managing frustration.

Using various ABA principles, we help children learn to identify their feelings, explore the possible reasons behind these emotions, and guide them on how to move forward in a positive and constructive way.

Progress is tracked through detailed data collection, ensuring that we are making meaningful advancements that enhance each child’s social interactions across different settings.

By building these foundational skills, we empower children to navigate their emotions with confidence and create more positive, meaningful connections in their everyday lives.

At Children's Wellness Centre we know who the expert is on your child...it's you! We also know that meaningful progress starts with collaboration.

Caregivers are an essential part of the process—not just participants, but partners. From the very beginning, we work together to identify goals that truly matter to your child and your family’s daily life. This means focusing on skills that promote independence, connection, and real-world success—whether that’s communication, play, daily routines, or social interactions.

Using evidence-based practices, clinicians guide the process by sharing professional insights while listening closely to caregiver priorities, values, and concerns. Together, we select goals that are practical, achievable, and meaningful—so progress feels relevant, not just clinical.

Because when goals reflect what matters most to your family, progress is not only measurable—it’s impactful, empowering, and lasting.
