🚲 Help us run the bike valet at Kingston Road Trip Festival!

Sustainable Kingston is looking for volunteers to help run our bike valet on September 12 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Volunteers will help greet cyclists, check in bikes, and keep an eye on the valet throughout the day. You’ll need to be comfortable lifting up to 25 pounds.

Shifts are a minimum of 2 hours, and volunteers will still have the opportunity to enjoy the festivities throughout the day. Plus, volunteers will receive a free ticket to the 6:30 p.m. Concert 🎶

It’s a great chance to get involved, meet your community, and help make it a little easier for people to leave the car at home and enjoy the festival. 🌱

🏡 Better Homes Kingston: Helping Create Safe, Comfortable, and Energy-Efficient Homes

After another summer of extreme heat and periods of wildfire smoke, we’ve been reminded just how important a comfortable and energy-efficient home can be.

Since accepting applications in May, Better Homes Kingston has received 100+ applications and provided 100+ personalized coaching sessions to help homeowners navigate their home energy upgrades.

Behind those numbers are Kingston residents taking steps to improve their homes, reduce energy use, and create more comfortable spaces for themselves and their families.

We’re proud to celebrate the progress made through Better Homes Kingston and grateful to everyone who has taken part in the program.

🌱 Looking back at last year’s Sustainable Kingston Awards, we’re reminded of the incredible people and organizations already helping build a greener, more resilient Kingston.

From keeping Kingston East clean, to empowering young climate leaders, advancing rare earth recycling, improving industrial sustainability, and making waste-free living more accessible, last year’s recipients showed just how many different forms sustainability can take.

Now, it’s time to celebrate the next wave of changemakers.
