A Dragon Tale comes to Harrowsmith Public School

What a show! Over 100 Harrowsmith Public School students, staff and families were involved in Dragon Tale, a theatre production that included actors and many crews: artistic, tech, backstage, costumes, hair and make-up, and publicity. Thanks to everyone’s hard work, dedication, and talent, the performances were outstanding and came together like magic.

We couldn’t be more proud of the students. It was such a joy to see their confidence grow and to watch them celebrate their accomplishments together. A big shoutout to Ms. Harding, director and playwright - this production would not have happened without you!

Although the dragon may be resting now that the show is complete, the memories will last a lifetime!

Approximately 65 students from Napanee District Secondary School, including health care and senior biology students, attended the Let’s Talk Cancer symposium at Queen's University earlier this month.

The event connected students with local STEM researchers and provided hands‑on learning experiences focused on how cancer research is conducted.

Students engaged in interactive activities and discussions designed to increase understanding of cancer research and inspire interest in science‑related careers.

The symposium offered a valuable opportunity for students to explore real‑world applications of biology and health sciences beyond the classroom.

A little slice of learning, coming right up!

Recently at Ernestown Intermediate, Ms. Lamarre’s French classes took their learning to the kitchen, rolling up their sleeves and cooking up pizza from scratch. It was a delicious day of hands‑on, highly engaging experiential learning for intermediate students.

As part of the preparation, students practiced their French language skills while discussing ingredients and food safety. They also collaborated as they learned how to use specific utensils and worked together to problem‑solve the challenges that come with cooking from scratch, without written instructions. Along the way, students built confidence, stretched their skills, and supported one another.

It was a great activity that highlighted transferable skills and offered students a chance to explore potential pathways. Way to go!
