At 5:18 am on July 19th KFD was paged out to CO alarms going off in a residents home on James Smith. Crews responded with C51T and E51T. Once crews arrived on scene the residents were waiting outside in a vehicle. Crews checked the home and found no carbon monoxide. Saskenergy was also dispatched so once they arrived on scene they cleared the house. It was found the cause was likely a stand up a/c unit causing a negative air pressure within the home. Crews returned to the hall and were back in service at 7:11 am.

To start this post I want to say Thank you!!

Secondly I wanna share a few thoughts now that I have had time to sit down and process the past couple days. To the firefighters.. when the pager went on Saturday night after the wind past you left your homes not entirely sure you had a roof over your families head. You guys got right to work clearing storm drains and doing wellness checks. Then came the busy work of clearing trees from streets and off power lines. Not once did anyone come up to me and say they were tired and wanted to go home it was always what’s next chief. So thank you guys for that. The dedication you guys show to your department and to this town is second to none makes me very proud to lead a team of such dedicated and selfless individuals.

Next I wanna thank the people of Kinistino you showed up in droves to help clear fallen trees and debris. It was really something to witness. Thank you to the many people and businesses that offered food and water to my men to keep us going.

The town of Kinistino staff you guys have done an incredible amount of work over the past couple days and we all thank you for your dedication to this town. People say it all the time we have the best town crew around and I could not agree more.

Things look much better around town today and driving around you can hardly tell a plow wind blew through here three days ago. Things will slowly get back to normal.

Thanks again to everyone who has helped get our town back to the beautiful place we all take pride in have a great night

Please be advised the plow wind that has hit town has caused significant damage please avoid driving around till we can asses the situation and make sure no power lines are in contact with the ground
