🚗🌲Travelers on Highways 11 and 66 will notice a fresh look to our regional corridors.
The Town of Kirkland Lake has installed three new billboard signs highlighting Kirkland Lake as a premier northern destination for powersports, arts & culture, and outdoor adventure.
These signs mark an exciting milestone in our "Stay Gold in Kirkland Lake" marketing campaign. By capturing the attention of travelers, this initiative plays a vital role in showcasing our community's unique vibrant heritage, boosting local businesses, and inviting new visitors to discover everything we have to offer.

✨Thank you for an incredible night, Kirkland Lake! ✨

It was wonderful to see Baird Park filled with families for our first-ever Canada Day Drone Show. The evening kicked off with great music and a fantastic atmosphere thanks to Mayhem Entertainment, while GameDay Snack Bar kept everyone happy and fed with their favourite event treats. Once the sun set, North Star Drone Shows took over the night sky delivering a spectacular drone performance that completely captivated the crowd.
This community event was made possible thanks to the generous support of Agnico Eagle, as well as the hard work of our municipal departments who ensured everything ran safely and smoothly behind the scenes.
And finally, thank you to our residents and visitors, for your cooperation, energy, and community spirit. You truly show why we stay gold! 💛

🇨🇦 Canada Day Drone Show: Event Guide & Important Information🇨🇦

Join us tomorrow, July 3rd, at Baird Park from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM for an unforgettable, sensory-friendly community celebration!

📅 Schedule of Events
Gates open at 8:00 PM! Enjoy music and visit the Gameday Snacks Bar concession stand. The Drone Show begins at dusk! The drone team will launch the spectacular light display as soon as it is dark enough for optimal viewing.

👀 Best Viewing Areas & Seating
Set up your spot in the designated Primary Drone Viewing Area (the main ball field right next to the Gameday Snacks Bar) or the two Secondary Drone Viewing Areas shown on the map. We encourage everyone to bring your own lawn chairs or picnic blankets to get comfortable on the grass fields.

⚠️ Important Public Safety & Parking Rules
Walk If You Can: With heavy traffic expected, we strongly encourage walking to Baird Park if you are able.

Designated Parking: If you must drive, please use the designated Vehicle Parking lots at the Joe Mavrinac Community Complex and Kirkland Lake District Composite School.

Emergency Access: Do not block any roadways, gates, or residential access points along Allen Ave, Fifth St, or Dunfield Rd as they must remain completely clear for emergency services.

Restricted Zones: For public safety during drone set-up and operations, please respect all barricades. The red RESTRICTED ACCESS: DRONE STAFF ONLY zone is strictly off-limits to the public.

Looking for plans this July 1st? We have two community events happening right here in Kirkland Lake:

📍 Canada Day in the Park (Civic Park), 2 PM – 7 PM
Local musicians, Road Legends Cruisers, food/craft vendors, games, dunk tank, and a NEW "Wreck House" for adults!

📍 Toburn Day in the Park (Toburn Mine Site), 11 AM – 3 PM
Gold panning (real nuggets!), free site tours, live music by Dave Rodgers and Friends, food and refreshments, art sale, and classic car show.

Why celebrate Canada Day for just one day when you can stretch it into the weekend? While the Lions Club Kirkland Lake kicks off the festivities at Civic Park on July 1st as well as the Toburn Operating Authority at the Toburn Mine Site, we’re keeping the celebration going. Join us on Friday, July 3rd at Baird Park for Kirkland Lake’s first-ever Canada Day Drone Show.

Keeping the Momentum Going! 🌳✨
Our Municipal Clean-Up Week has officially wrapped up, and the town is looking fantastic thanks to everyone's hard work! There is still a little bit of tidy-up work to be done though, and our young explorers can help us cross the finish line with a round of Litter Bingo.

It’s the perfect way to get the kids outside, active, and involved in keeping our neighborhoods beautiful.

How to Play & Claim Your Prize:

🧤 Explore & Clean: Head out for a walk, mark off the items you spot, and safely pick up any leftover litter along the way.
🎁 Drop-Off: Bring your completed card to the Complex by this Thursday, May 28th. The first 100 kids to hand theirs in get a special prize!
