NOTICE: A special air quality statement is in effect for Kitchener with poor air quality. Wondering what to do during a special air quality statement? Follow the tips below:

➡️ Stay indoors with windows closed and air conditioning turned on if it’s warm
➡️ Visit a fresh air centre at a City pool, arena or community centre during regular business hours
➡️ Ensure you’re stocked up on anything you need such as food & medications
➡️ Reduce strenuous activities
➡️ Stay away from areas with high vehicle traffic

The Community Coalition of Refugee and Immigrant Concerns (CCORIC) warmly invites you to join us in commemorating World Refugee Day on Friday, June 19, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at THEMUSEUM in downtown Kitchener.

This year’s theme, is “We're Better Together.” It is a powerful reminder to stand with those who have been forced to flee their homes—and to celebrate their strength, resilience, and contributions within our communities.

This free, public event is open to all. Come together with fellow community members for an evening of reflection, storytelling, and connection.

Event Highlights:

Presentation of the 2026 World Refugee Day Awards of Distinction, honoring those who champion refugee support and inclusion
