Thank you so much to the Northern Brain Injury Association, Tekah Sabal, and all of the participants who joined us on Monday to learn about the importance of fall prevention and how to be a bit safer this winter 🤗

We're also happy to share that the NBIA is starting their BRAIN INJURY SUPPORT GROUP meetings in Kitimat!!!

These meetings are designed to support those who have experienced a Stroke, Concussion, Car Crash, Fall, Assault, or another kind of Acquired Brain Injury. Meet others who understand, in a safe and supportive environment.

They will be meeting every 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month from 11 AM - 12 PM at the Kitimat General Hospital's Multi-Purpose Room (downstairs). The next meeting will be October 22, 2026. Limited seating. Please call ahead.

A reminder to stay safe as the seasons and weather change 🍂

Join us this coming Monday for "SLIPS, TRIPS and FALLS, with a STROKE of Genius," a presentation by Northern Brain Injury Association, presented by Tekah Sabal.

Come and find out:
- What are the FACTS about strokes and falls?
- Are you at risk of a stroke or fall?
- How do you recognize the signs and symptoms of a stroke or concussion?
- What should be done if one happens?
- What are some practical ways to prevent strokes and falls indoors and outdoors?
- Are seniors different than the rest of the population when it comes to strokes and falls, and their treatments?
