66 emprunts de livres, livres numériques, vidéos et livres audio, une augmentation de plus de 13 pour cent comparativement à ceux de 2012. La bibliothèque Pettes comprend une grande collection de livres pour enfants en français et en anglais. Le bâtiment de la bibliothèque Pettes fait partie du patrimoine architectural de VLB. Cette magnifique bâtisse fut construite en 1893 par la famille Pettes en l'honneur de Nathaniel Pettes, alors marchand et politicien de la localité. C'est à ce jour la plus ancienne bibliothèque publique du Québec.

Pettes has 2,844 active users, which means that more than 50 per cent of TBL residents use our FREE public library. It is a community hub supporting education and literacy to all demographics and age groups, in both English and French. In 2013 there were more than 41,466 checkouts (loans of reading material) of books, eBooks, videos and talking books, an increase of more than 13 per cent over 2012. Pettes has an extensive children’s reading selection, in both English and French — and supports one of the two local elementary schools with a supplementary reading program. The Pettes building is an architectural landmark. This beautiful building was built in 1893 by the Pettes family, in honour of Nathaniel Pettes, a local merchant and politician. It is the oldest free public library in rural Quebec. Pettes is one of the six public libraries in Quebec serving a population base greater than 5,000 and less than 10,000 Pettes has:
1. second highest active users;
2. second highest number of users per population served;
3. highest number of days open to users;
4. lowest cost of operations.
