Encore Community Arts Association Presents Shrek The Musical!

Get ready for a swamp-tacular adventure! When a grumpy (but lovable) ogre named Shrek finds his quiet swamp overrun by fairy tale misfits, he sets off on a wild quest to get his home back. Along the way, he’s joined by a fast-talking Donkey, faces off with the tiny but mighty Lord Farquaad, and meets a princess who’s not quite what she seems. Packed with laugh-out-loud moments, catchy songs, and a whole lot of heart, Shrek the Musical is a hilarious celebration of friendship, love, and embracing what makes you unique. Perfect for the whole family!

In just a few days, JUNO Award–nominated Newfoundland and Labrador artist Kellie Loder takes the stage at the Labrador West Arts & Culture Centre—and we can’t wait to welcome audiences for what promises to be an unforgettable evening of music.

If you haven’t yet experienced Kellie’s artistry, this is the perfect opportunity!

With a voice that is both warm yet powerful, and songwriting that is honest, vulnerable, and deeply human, Kellie is a true multi-genre marvel. Blending Americana, folk, and indie-pop with the spirit and depth of Newfoundland and Labrador’s musical heritage, their sound feels both contemporary and timeless.

Kellie is a rising star. They’ve collaborated with acclaimed producer Justin Gray (known for his work with Mariah Carey and John Legend) on their album Benefit of the Doubt, demonstrating the calibre of artistry audiences can expect. Their single “Fearless” was featured in an IMAX documentary trailer, and more recently Kellie reached the finals of Canada's Got Talent, representing the province, and captivating viewers nationwide.

With their latest album Transitions, Kellie delivers a stunning collection of songs exploring love, heartbreak, growth, and change. The lead single, “When It Comes to You,” climbed to the #1 spot on CBC Music’s Top 20—further solidifying their place as one of Canada’s most compelling musicians.

Here’s what CBC had to say:

“There is something about Kellie Loder's voice that reaches deep inside your body, unearthing feelings you thought dealt with (or successfully hidden). It's good to feel them, though, and Loder is the best company, their powerhouse vocals and vulnerable songwriting acting as buoy and guide.”

— CBC Music, Spring Album Preview

🎶 Coming soon to the Labrador West Arts & Culture Centre! 🎶

Get ready for an unforgettable night with Newfoundland and Labrador’s own JUNO Award–nominated singer‑songwriter, Kellie Loder, part of the Arts & Culture Centre Presentation Series 2025/26 season.

A true multi‑genre marvel, Kellie’s signature sound blends folk, Americana, and indie pop, paired with heartfelt storytelling and a magnetic stage presence that draws audiences all the way in.

Kellie’s accolades speak for themselves—JUNO Award nominations, Songwriter of the Year, Fan’s Choice Entertainer of the Year at the 2023 East Coast Music Awards, and first runner‑up on Canada’s Got Talent (2022).

Simply put, Kellie Loder is one of the province’s most exciting musical talents.

This one‑night‑only performance at the Labrador West Arts & Culture Centre promises an incredible night out for music lovers—but don’t just take our word for it…

Canadian rapper and record executive Kardinal Offishall says:

“There are hundreds of thousands, if not millions of people who will connect with [Kellie Loder’s] authenticity… I think who [they] are is a megastar!”

Soundcheck Entertainment agrees:

“Anyone who has heard Loder or watched them perform knows they have charisma in spades—and seeing them live is an experience you don’t want to miss.”

And CBC’s Q with Tom Power puts it best:

“If I were a betting man, I’d bet the house on Kellie Loder being the next big thing out of Newfoundland.”
