Last month, we had the pleasure of hosting several exciting events at the schools. The students had a wonderful time participating in the activities, and our volunteers truly enjoyed being part of these special moments as well.

From rangoli to book reading sessions, the students were exposed to many cultures, and traditions. It truly was remarkable to see the diversity in Labrador West.

Every year, ANC–Labrador West celebrates Multicultural Month in March, bringing our community together to recognize and celebrate the many cultures that make our region vibrant and unique.

The events we hosts are made extra special through the generous support of our local businesses. Their donations help us create meaningful celebrations, activities, and opportunities for the community to come together.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the businesses that contributed. Your kindness and generosity truly make a difference. Without your support, we would not be able to make our Multicultural Month as special and memorable as it is each year.

We’ll have casual conversation tables, light refreshments, and plenty of good vibes. No pressure, no grammar drills – just a warm, inclusive space to connect with others and enjoy the French language and culture.

The ANC Labrador West recently had the pleasure of donating a few sets of snowshoes to the Menihek Nordic Ski Club.

The Menihek Ski Club has always been incredibly supportive of our newcomers, and over the years we’ve built a wonderful partnership together. Their commitment to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for everyone in our community means so much to us.

This donation is just a small gesture to say “thank you” for all that they do for both Labrador West and the ANC community. We truly appreciate their ongoing support and look forward to many more seasons of collaboration and outdoor fun!

The ANC–Labrador West recently organized a snowshoeing event for our clients at the Menihek Nordic Ski Lodge, and it was a wonderful day of winter fun and community connection.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Menihek Nordic Ski Club for graciously hosting us. The wonderful ladies at the lodge went above and beyond to make our newcomers feel welcome and comfortable, ensuring that everyone had a positive experience.

A huge thank you also goes out to our incredible volunteers who made this event possible. They guided our newcomers, helped them get fitted with snowshoes, and supported them along the trail to ensure everyone enjoyed the walk. From putting on snowshoes to offering encouragement and assistance along the way, our volunteers were there every step of the journey.

Events like these are a great way to introduce newcomers to the beauty of winter in Labrador West, and we are grateful to everyone who helped make the day such a success!

The Association for New Canadians (ANC) – Labrador West was delighted to host our recent Basketball and Badminton Events, and they were truly some of our most enjoyable gatherings yet!

A special thank you to our local basketball league for collaborating with us to make the basketball event such a wonderful success.

We are also incredibly grateful to all of our clients and community members who joined us for a fun Badminton Day as part of our Multicultural Month celebrations. Your energy, enthusiasm, and participation made the event memorable!

Events like these remind us how fortunate we are to have such a diverse, vibrant, and welcoming immigrant community here in Labrador West.

We love serving you and look forward to many more moments of connection, sport, and celebration together!

To say Food for Food was a success is an understatement! We are so, so thankful to all those that participated and made this a success.

There are many to thank for making Food for Food a success. First and foremost, a big thank you to all our volunteers who cooked a meal! We couldn't have done this without you guys! To all our volunteers who showed up to help.

A huge thank you to the Town of Labrador City for partnering with us. You guys are our backbone! The support that the Town has shown over the years is simply extraordinary! We are so grateful to having the best partners!

Each and every one that is involved in the Winter Carnival committee, needs a huge shout out for helping us and making this event as popular as it is.

Thank you to the Association Francophone du Labrador for collaborating. You guys have made Maple Taffy a household name. There is not a single kid that comes to our event and doesn’t fall in love with the taffy!

Lastly, a big thank you to everyone that comes to Food for Food and makes it a success!
