Falcon Beach RCMP respond to assault at electric vehicle charging station

On August 14, 2026, at 3 pm, Falcon Beach RCMP received a report of an assault outside a business, at the electric vehicle charging station located on Highway 1 in Prawda.

It was reported that a male in a SUV, pulling a travel trailer, parked in front of all four charging stations, blocking access to surrounding charging points for other motorists.

The victim approached the male but was immediately threatened.

The male from the SUV, then proceeded to throw a coffee cup and a water bottle at the victim before producing a machete.

As a result of the confrontation, nearby individuals approached the suspect who then fled the scene in his vehicle.

The victim, a 43-year-old male from Winnipeg, was not injured.

Shortly after 4 pm, Kenora Ontario Provincial Police advised Falcon Beach RCMP that the suspect vehicle had been located in Kenora and the driver was arrested.

The driver, a 46-year-old male from Winnipeg, was turned over to RCMP and returned to Manitoba.

He has since been released on conditions with a pending court date for the following offences:
• Assault with a weapon
• Uttering Threats

Falcon Beach RCMP continue to investigate.

Update: Arrested - Lac du Bonnet RCMP searching for escaped prisoner, Justin Paul

Update: Lac du Bonnet RCMP searching for escaped prisoner

On August 13, 2026, at approximately 11 am, Justin Paul was arrested by the Lac du Bonnet RCMP. He was located near Highway 11 and Minnewawa Street W in Lac du Bonnet.

The Lac du Bonnet RCMP would like to thank the public and the media for their assistance.

Lac du Bonnet RCMP searching for escaped prisoner

On August 12, 2026, at 9 p.m., Lac du Bonnet RCMP were notified of an escaped prisoner from Milner Ridge Correctional Centre in the RM of Lac du Bonnet.

Lac du Bonnet RCMP with the assistance of RCMP Police Dog Services and drone operators attended immediately. Roadblocks were also put in place, but the prisoner was not located.

The escaped prisoner, Justin Paul, 44, is described as 6’0”, 227 lbs, with black hair and hazel eyes. He was last seen walking northeast of the facility into a wooded area wearing a grey t-shirt and one shoe.

Manitoba RCMP are advising everyone in the area to report any suspicious activity and to not pick up to any hitchhikers.

If seen, do not approach and call 911 immediately.

Michelle Leblanc is WANTED by Lac du Bonnet RCMP.

Michelle Leblanc, 37, is wanted for non-compliance of her Conditional Sentence Order and Failure to comply with a Release Order.

Leblanc is about 5’6”, 150 lbs, with straight brown and pink hair and brown eyes.

She is known to frequent Winnipeg and the Lac du Bonnet area.

Anyone with information on Leblanc whereabouts is asked to call Lac du Bonnet RCMP at 204-345-6311.

Update # 5: Lac du Bonnet RCMP searching for two youths in Nutimik Lake

Lac du Bonnet RCMP can confirm that at 7:45 pm, the body of 13-year-old Aaron Au Ramirez has been recovered from the water.

Family notification has taken place.

Lac du Bonnet RCMP would like to thank the numerous supporting agencies and volunteers that assisted in the search for the two Au Ramirez brothers.

Update # 4: Lac du Bonnet RCMP searching for two youths in Nutimik Lake

Lac du Bonnet RCMP, various law enforcement and community organizations, and volunteers continue to search for 13-year-old Aaron Au Ramirez, one day after recovering his 10-year-old brother Maximo from Nutimik Lake.

The Manitoba RCMP Marine Unit, HEART, the Rosenort Fire Department, Turtle Aquatic Response Inc. and approximately 20 boats manned by volunteers who are all aiding in the search.

Manitoba RCMP continue to utilize drones to search both shorelines and the waterways.

The following is a statement given to RCMP by Haidee Ramirez and Roger Au – Maximo and Aaron’s parents:

We are going through horrible and unimaginable pain for our children. What we have gone through is not humanly possible to understand. We are surviving only because of the help of those around us. We have so much gratitude for the people who are helping. The help is so overwhelming that it is hard to understand how a community can be so strong for us and help us so much.

The support of everyone is truly what is sustaining our family.

We want to thank our family, friends, the countless volunteers, the RCMP, Allison and Harry at Nutimik Lodge, HEART, Pinewood Lodge, Turtle Island Aquatic Response, Submerged, Turtle Aquatic Response, our community of St. Emile – both the church and the school – as well as St. Andrew Boboia Catholic Church.

There are so many others that have come to help search or have provided us with hugs, prayers and hope – we thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts.

Please keep our sons, who were always faithful and kind, in your thoughts and in your prayers.

Update # 3: On July 22, 2026, at 7:30 pm., Lac du Bonnet RCMP received a report of a body near the shore on Nutimik Lake.

Manitoba RCMP can confirm they have now recovered the body of 10-year-old Maximo Au Ramirez

The search for the 13-year-old remains on-going.
Family notification has taken place.

Update # 2: Lac du Bonnet RCMP searching for two youths in Nutimik Lake

The search continues for a fourth day to locate the 10 and 13-year-old boys who went missing in Nutimik Lake on July 18, 2026.

Once again, RCMP officers from the Lac du Bonnet detachment, HEART, and the Manitoba RCMP Marine Unit are all on scene continuing their search of the water as well as the shoreline with the use of drones.

The Lac du Bonnet RCMP reminds all boaters in the area to immediately report anything that may help locate the two children – this can include clothing, personal belongings, footwear or any other items in the water or along the shoreline that appear out of place.
