Falcon Beach RCMP respond to assault at electric vehicle charging station
On August 14, 2026, at 3 pm, Falcon Beach RCMP received a report of an assault outside a business, at the electric vehicle charging station located on Highway 1 in Prawda.
It was reported that a male in a SUV, pulling a travel trailer, parked in front of all four charging stations, blocking access to surrounding charging points for other motorists.
The victim approached the male but was immediately threatened.
The male from the SUV, then proceeded to throw a coffee cup and a water bottle at the victim before producing a machete.
As a result of the confrontation, nearby individuals approached the suspect who then fled the scene in his vehicle.
The victim, a 43-year-old male from Winnipeg, was not injured.
Shortly after 4 pm, Kenora Ontario Provincial Police advised Falcon Beach RCMP that the suspect vehicle had been located in Kenora and the driver was arrested.
The driver, a 46-year-old male from Winnipeg, was turned over to RCMP and returned to Manitoba.
He has since been released on conditions with a pending court date for the following offences:
• Assault with a weapon
• Uttering Threats
Falcon Beach RCMP continue to investigate.
