To the Community of Lac La Biche and Surrounding Area,

LOESS – Out of the Elements Shelter is currently seeking a new location to relocate our facility in or just outside of Lac La Biche.

As many community members are aware, our current shelter location is facing closure, and we are urgently working to secure a suitable property that will allow us to continue providing essential shelter and support services to vulnerable individuals within our community.

We are reaching out to ask for the support of the public. If you own property, or know someone who may be willing to work with us, we are specifically looking for approximately 3 to 5 acres of land that could appropriately accommodate our facility and future operational needs.

Our goal is to find a safe, accessible, and sustainable location where we can continue offering emergency shelter, support services, stability, and hope to those who rely on LOESS during difficult times.

This is more than just finding land — it is about preserving a critical community service that supports individuals experiencing homelessness, crisis, and hardship while also contributing to the overall safety and wellbeing of our region.

We believe in the strength and compassion of our community and are hopeful that, through collaboration and support, a solution can be found.
