We talk a lot about the craft of writing and the business of writing. But what is it that connects the two, and why do we avoid exploring this liminal space? This interactive session unfolds as a creative experiment, answering the question: Can we really design a creative practice that fits into and enhances our lives? By the end of this 2-hour workshop, writers will have a mind map sketch (in their own lexicon) that highlights what their own liminal space can look like, and how this liminal space can become the missing piece in their own craft and business of writing toolkits.

This session is facilitated by award-winning writer and creative practitioner Chelene Knight,

Wednesday October 14 from 6:30-8:00 pm via Zoom.

Price for workshop: $25 for SWG members, $45 for nonmembers. Register here: https://skwriter.com/events-and-workshops/explore-the-liminal-space-between-the-craft-of-writing-and-the-business-of-writing-with-chelene-knight

Remember, you don't have to be in SK to be a member of the SWG!

We are now accepting applications for apprentices and mentors for the 2027 Mentorship Program. This program allows developing writers (apprentices) to work in a supportive environment under the guidance of professional writers (mentors). The mentor provides the apprentice with one-on-one instruction in the craft of creative writing, and pairs will be in regular contact during the program. The program is open to writers in all genres and will be tailored to the apprentice's individual needs.

The program is perfect for emerging Saskatchewan writers ready to learn from an established writer and willing to work hard on their writing project under professional guidance.

Deadline: September 29 by 11:59 pm.
