I have to say that it is disappointing to see the current level of discussion taking such an downward turn. In Council and on social media I have never been accused of being too quiet. When I see that my special and unique experiences should be expressed on the council I speak up and voice my opinion, and also on other topics. I do not speak just to say I spoke up and/or to get a quote in the paper, I do not believe in wasting the time of council. So when I also choose to not speak especially on a subject that I know from first hand experience does not need my input, I am saddened to see people on social media that are running for council calling people dummies. That may work in other jurisdictions but is not needed here. I do not and will not post negative and demeaning comments like that. I will debate in person or on social media in a mutually respectful manner, some times passionately, but will not resort to name calling. Let's see if going into this election we can be at least civil and debate the issues without negative personalizing attacks.

A very informative tour today with the Heritage Advisory Committee Tour. Thank you to Tami Quiring for the first hand knowledge regarding the history of Aldergrove and area. Her being raised by a pioneer family gives great insight to those of us originally from other areas. Well done to everyone that set this up and also to the Meals On Wheels for a delicious lunch as always.

Today on the way to the FIFA watch party at LEC it was great to see a very positive interaction of School Board and Langley Township. All of these students from RE Mountain and Ewert Middle School are on Township playing fields just as it will be at the Smith middle and high schools. Having high standard facilities such as these benefits both organizations and especially the students.

Last night the RCPAC toured significant improvements made to our parks. This included the Fernridge Nature Park in progress, Noel Booth Park, Bell Park, the Soccer Campus and of course Yorkson Park. Great to see the progress made and still ongoing. Staff are a great resource dealing with the past and future of these facilities. Their expertise and opinions when properly resourced are what is making Langley Township a location of incredible spaces. More work to be done but attention to detail and universality is showing in these projects.

This term, our team expanded the new Fernridge Nature Park from 45 to 80 acres. More natural space, something so important to me and everyone on our team.
