Get ready for the Household Hazardous Waste Plus Collection Event!

Taking place on September 19 and 20 from 9am to 3pm at George Preston Recreation Centre, the Household Hazardous Waste Plus Collection Event provides a safe way to dispose of household hazardous waste such as batteries, bleach, propane tanks and more!

This event is drive-through only via southbound 208 Street, and items will be collected from your vehicle's trunk or truck bed. Proof of Township of Langley residency is required.

In recognition of Labour Day, departments within the Township’s Civic Facility, Operations Centre, and Fire Department’s Administration Office will be closed on Monday, September 7 and will reopen on Tuesday, September 8 at 8:30am.

Some municipal services, such as curbside collection, will be adjusted.⁠

Community and recreation centres will be open on Monday, September 7 but schedules and hours of operation may be different than usual. The Outdoor Experience at Aldergrove Community Centre is open. Advance online registration is required (no drop-ins).

As summer comes to an end, don't let cleanup become a guessing game.

🏖️ Worn-out plastic beach toys and inflatables belong in your garbage cart, not your blue box.

🔥 Propane tanks should be taken to an approved recycling and waste centre, not placed in curbside recycling. Empty butane canisters are also accepted at the North Surrey facility.

🏊 If you're draining a pool or hot tub, de-chlorinate the water, test it, and drain it slowly onto your lawn. Never discharge water into storm drains.

On September 1, water restrictions will move from Stage 2 to Stage 1 in Metro Vancouver, allowing lawn watering one morning per week for all residential and non-residential properties.

Let us take care of your bulky items! Properties receiving municipal garbage collection are also eligible for the large item pick up program.

Eligible properties may have up to four large items picked up by appointment per year. Accepted items include old furniture, mattresses, large appliances and more!
