The new Fire Hall No 5 in Brookswood/Fernridge opens on Thursday, July 16. Brookswood, like other urban areas of Langley, will now, finally, have full-time service. As will our rural areas of South Langley as well.

For residents, farms, and businesses, this means lower response times, lower home insurance rates, and vastly improved public safety. For fires, of course, but also a lot more too, from medical calls, to auto extraction to lift assists.

And, no surprise, a new fire hall needs additional firefighters. And that requires good governance, an approved budget, and a Council committed to public safety. At the Council table.

Public safety is local government's core responsibility. Residents deserve to be as safe as possible. For Brookswood, and for the future, we're getting it done.

School Trustee Sarb Rai is running for Council to help make Langley the best place to raise a family, to ensure growth pays for the growth, and they we continue to get things done.

We have a new five-year plan to fix our worst local and rural roads, starting this year. Neglected for decades, residents and taxpayers deserve quality local roads.

I've been working on this plan the past few years. It actually saves money in the long run too. Yet only me and the Progress for Langley team voted to fund fixing our local roads.

Let's ensure we continue to have a Council that gets things done, knows how, with a clear focus to make even more Progress for Langley.

Inspired by Yorkson Community Park, we will build at least 5 more great playgrounds throughout the Township of Langley. Any thoughts on some good, possible locations?

We need a new Rural Plan, to help protect and preserve our farmland, help farmers, businesses and our rural areas succeed. And we need a Council that values rural Langley, with the same rules for everyone.
