BC Community Response Networks

BC Community Response Networks BC CRN is a resource network for responding to abuse, neglect, and self-neglect of vulnerable adults

BC CRN provides small project funding, materials, training, support people and maintains a website to assist CRNs in their work. At the local level, CRNs facilitate prevention and education activities with local stakeholders toward an end to abuse, neglect and self-neglect of adults in BC. In liaising at the provincial level through their Regional Mentors and the Executive Director, CRNs assist in

identifying common themes, barriers and issues which require work at the regional, provincial and sometimes national level.

Frauds and scams continue to affect older adults across BC, making community education and awareness more important than ever.

In Kelowna, local organizations came together during Fraud Prevention Month to host a packed public seminar focused on helping older adults recognize scams, protect themselves, and feel more confident navigating today’s fraud risks.

Sexual violence can affect people of all ages and backgrounds, and many people experience harm in silence because of fear, stigma, shame, or uncertainty about where to turn for support.

At BC CRN, we believe every adult deserves to feel safe, respected, and heard.
Building safer communities means learning to recognize warning signs, challenge harmful attitudes, and create environments where dignity and consent are valued.

This month is an opportunity to listen, learn, and help build communities where people feel supported and protected from harm.
